A month ago, we brought you the news of an official Midnight Launch Party in Singapore to celebrate the release of Transformers: Age Of Extinction Toyline.
Today, we have more info about the event thanks to the Come, See Toys Blog.
1. “Lion City Roars for Grimlock” AppIn order for the mighty Grimlock to emerge, we need to collect one million decibels worth of roars. To help in this quest, fans and their friends can submit their loudest roars via the Facebook mobile application titled The Lion City Roars for Grimlock.
2. Transformers Toy Madness @ 2200
Kicking off the festivities is the TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION Toy Madness @ 2200 event. Starting from 10pm on Friday, 16th May, fans of all walks can join in the excitement at Toys’R’Us Forum and be the first to own the figures from the TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION movie. Fans can also revel in fun-filled activities such as putting their skills to the test in a race against fellow fans to convert TRANSFORMERS figurines; and have their photos taken with their favourite Transformers characters. What’s more, the top spender of the night will win a Gold-Chrome Transformers 4 Optimus Prime Leader (with display case), limited to Toys’R’Us Star Card members only.
The Transformers 4 Platinum Edition Optimus Prime and Grimlock, available only at Toys’R’Us, will be launched at this event. Fans who purchase this item during the event will stand a chance to receive a pair of TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION movie tickets, a Transformers paper bag and movie poster, along with Miniature 2-inch Optimus Prime Then & Now metal figures.

I wish the party was here

What is this AOE Prime next to the G1, one?
Autovolt 127
Not even Gold Chrome can redeem AOE Leader Optimus Prime.
Seriously Hasbro we should be having this launch party in North America.

We really need an Electrum series of retail figures.

I roared into it and my dogs went crazy.

You get a beaten up, card half bent Crosshairs package that was put back on the peg with tape on the bubble, 'clearanced' to 17.99, even though it's a Movie 2 Bumblebee in it, sold to you by the sweatiest questionable-that's-a-lady clerk in your county. Now go back to your donut.
poke I really am kidding, but I couldn't resist when 'Murica comes to mention. And because it's experience talking sadly.)

Hmmm. So is this the first indication we've had of who'll have the prime/grimlock platinum set?
The next question becomes is it a US tru thing as well? An if not will it be available in the us at all?
That's the version I want. I suppose I could see going overboard getting Takara's an mixing pieces- but if I only get one, out of the box I like platinum the best.

Update 05/02/2014: Transformers 4 Age Of Extinction Toyline Singapore Midnight Launch Party Info
Grimlockimus
Well technically the US will have midnight launches as well, though going to one all depends on if you're prepared for the evil glares of tired Walmart employees
Autovolt 127
I wish I could attend one of these.

What bout' 'Murica?
We get anything special? B/c if not, I am moving to Singapore
avc-prime
Ill see if I can get a good deal on ebay, not worth retail IMO.
Rewind
There was a midnight toy release in the US for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace back in 1999. I thought it would be fun, but it was mostly an ugly smear of scalpers pushing each other around to get the last Darth Maul figures.
Grimwing
I'm really excited for new toys anyway. The movies are the only thing that kick the retailers to order.
As for the movie itself. I'll interested in seeing it in 3D but my expectations are tapered to only be slightly better than dark of the moon.

We don't even make the toys dude… Do you think Singapore's like in China or something?
vrba79
Maybe cause they make the toys there, they get first dibs?

I enjoyed it and it was surprisingly busy. It wasn't just kids, people from all ages were there and they had this green screen photo booth thing that put you in a backdrop of space. They had the War for Cybertron wii game going on and a collectors box was given out for people who spent $50+ on the toys, which I have myself. Overall it was fun experience and as I said earlier the atmosphere was great. I'd recommend going to it.
tikgnat
'Much anticipated'… lol.
Having said that if they do one in the UK TRU (that doesn't involve a compulsory purchase of a figure I don't want) I'll probably go and nab a 'Day 1' Evasion Optimus.
seali_me
This reminds me. I have to pick up my copy of Evasion Optimus Prime at Walmart.

Nope no such thing with TRU S'pore.
