I think I still prefer the MS version, but will have to see as all these Primes develop.

 

What kills it for me here, are the square (as opposed to rectangle)chest windows, which will probably stay put in vehicle mode making it look like it drank 5 gallons of coffee, and the smokestacks been too low. I know they are toon accurate but I would appreciate a slider at least.

I'm tentatively interested. Only thing really wrong with it is that the arms are a tad too long and the chest too big. Judging from the various angles, it has a clever transformation set up and I really want to know how the legs are going to transform. But my biggest problem right now is that we haven't seen the vehicle mode or any posed shots, so we have no idea what to expect in that regard. The other one looked nice standing still too but posed it was a bit of a disaster.

Plus, you know. We have no idea who these guys are or what to expect quality wise from them. Wouldn't be the first time a nice looking product got revealed that turned out to be a disaster in hand.

tl;dr we don't know enough yet but what we have looks good so I am tentatively interested.

 

I feel like if they could get the head a little better this figure would look really great. It's already good, but making the eyes a bit closer together/smaller, and the antennae more angular would make this guy even better. Maybe like this:




I hope they make a Soundwave too. With all these new primes it's giving me hope for a new Soundwave.

 

Looks good, but I'm feeling the looks of the Magic Square one a little more.

 

looks to be the best bot mode of the three.. takara, MS, and this if full toon is the game. very clean. wonder how bad the truck is haha

I suspect this has been in development for a long time before Takara announced their version.
The point is that they think they’ll make money by selling this.

Many companies got the same idea at the same time...?
Also, there have been plenty of new Optimus Prime figures at MP scale in the past few years, but they have all tried to have a unique take on the character.

 

There's a balance somewhere between all of these OPs where you have toon accuracy vs conveying the heroic nature of the character (usually in the proportions) ala MP10. Too toon accurate looks bland. I think this one falls into that category for me. Just looks like another OP toy. I keep staring at the gaping crotch gap here. When someone get's that balance right, they will have my money. Magic Square so far looks the closest to me so far.

Hahaha... true. This level of critique is starting to infect Legends figures as well "If only this figure was 1/10th of a cm shorter it would be perfect for my collection!"

I like the lack of some panel lines but the torso seems to have odd proportions (to me). Still like Tak more.

 

This is pretty cool. I like how there are so many options now. These guys have a cool logo also, but that doesn't mean anything.I might end up buying the other version also. I think I'm addicted to Optimus Prime figures  

 

This actually looks really good. Much better than Fattimus Prime with the one piece hip skirt that other company is doing. Price dependant I might be in for a Megatron controlled clone as I doubt it'll be as highly articulated as the Takara version.

 

I’m getting the 3rd version of MP Prime from Takara  because I’m a sucker for Optimus Primes. All these 3rd party Primes look like crap and aren’t necessary to me

 

Wow. I’m actually surprised as to how good this actually looks. Depending on the price, I’m willing to be a guinea pig.

 

Price, maybe? Takara's will be around $400 USD, this could undercut them by about $250 USD easy.

 

Or maybe he/she is talking about MP-10
