I love to see a dedicated M7 DX line from Bandai period. It'd be great to see the VF-17, VF-11 and potentially their sound force versions too or if we're getting really ambitious an Elgerzorene. Though a Sound Force VF-11 would almost have to be a completely different tooling due to how stylized it is
Yeap, the DYRL version. Still far away but that's sounds good. Cross fingers it happens eventually. On a tangent, curious if those three valks that were teased in the Tamashii New York event are the most likely candidates to be release stateside first.
Might take all of them and especially want a VF-11D Jamming Birds Thunderbolt. Hopefully they make a VF-11 with the intent of armoring up later so we can get the Thunderbolt armor Kinryu used(unfortunately Yamato didn’t design theirs with that armor in mind). If Bandai can make a new DX VF-17 with an accurate sculpt and just as intuitive to transform as their DX 1/65 toy from the 90’s, they’ll have a winner on their hands. The latter is straight up fun. Wouldn’t be surprised if the YF-19 comes through. I’ll be happy to see that happen, especially since the whole embargo thing got kicked off due to Macross Plus toys. To finally see a YF-19 distributed and sold stateside would be a great way to close out that era and start a new one. Really hope SDF and DYRL? are next.
For sure, I’m in the middle of rewatching M7 with my sister right now, and the Kinryu VF-11 scene still stands out as exceptional.
12 hours and ticking for the DX 31ax Mirage pre-order madness. Stay tuned for links when it shows up.
One grail aquired for now. Got Mirage’s Granddad’s 22s, hopefully I can get the granddaughter’s 31ax.
I’ve often thought that the armor for the valkyries were extreme such as the GBP-1S to that Armored Thunderbolt. And somehow it work, there’s a certain elegance to it, at least for this two and even the reactive armor from the Zero Series. But boy do these newer armored packs for the VF-31 are just taking it the higher level of what extreme is, kind a cool in animation but the fact that these newer valks (VF-25, VF-31, etc…) are getting slimmer I wonder how that translates well to at least somewhat of a toy.
Yea the newer ones look like space fighters from SHMUP games but also slender sans armor, armed to the teeth when armored with more things hanging off. Toy wise some are tricky to integrate like the armor for the DX Renewal Armored Messiahs. Some of the toys I enjoy more without the armor for the sake of no extra weight weighing the joints down. It definitely pays to design the toy for later armored integration like with the Yamato/Arcadia V2 1/60 VF-1. The armor is also light enough on the HI METAL R toys to not really impact them negatively(helps that they’re in a substantially smaller scale too). With figures like the DX VF-1, I’ve yet to buy armor. Maybe down the line but not in any rush.
The armored VF-31s might be the most badass Macross figure I've ever seen. My understanding is that the armor weighs a ton (perhaps to the detriment of the figure's joints) but it looks insane. I don't care for the way the armor looks in fighter mode, but bot and gerwalk look great, IMO.
Give you guys this link for now as others will pop up as the time gets closer. DX Chogokin VF-31AX Kairos Plus (Mirage Farina Jenius Use) (Completed) preorders will start after PM4:00 of 2nd November, Japan time[GMT+9] - HobbySearch Anime Robot/SFX Store

No luck. Chased the links as they were posted on MW but all sold out. I still don't know how people find the link, my searches never find anything, and of course by the time anyone helpfully posts it, all gone. Oh well. Would have preferred Mirage over Hayate but maybe later.
