Wait, wait, no, I thought you wanted the original prices. If you want current prices, you'll have to look up other sources for that.

Well, that's not going to tell you why the repro prices are so expensive, because those prices aren't adjusted for inflation.

Optimus Prime's cheapest price listed there was $16.99, adjusted to inflation using an inflation calculator, puts that at $41.51. As you can see, when adjusted with inflation, it makes a lot of since. Plus, you have the raise in inflation of costs of material, workers, and shipping factored in. It makes since that Optimus Prime's cab is now the price of what he would have been with the full thing today, as yesterday.

Then you have to factor in the price of nostalgia and greed.

Oh I know that. This question was brought on when my boyfriend saw a repro TF, bitched about the price and when I asked how much they cost back in the day, said he couldn't remember. So now I know how much the originals cost.

A lot of gathering of screenshots from eBay went into this. This should be the most thorough index available:
    G1 Original Retail Price Listing

Inflation converter is in there too.

I'm looking for some help and I'm hoping someone is this thread can help me out. Currently I'm putting some drawings together for a display case for a Generation 1 display and I need someone to tell me who the tallest bot is and a dimension.

I've tried searching for this on google but for some reason it keeps giving dimensions on the newest figures and not G1. I'm strictly looking at the figures from 84 to 86, my assumption is that this would be Omega Supreme or Metroplex.

I don't own (currently) a G1 Omega Supreme, Trypticon, Metroplex or Predaking I would assume that one of these guys hold the title as being the tallest.

My assumption is 18" would give me enough room but I don't want to assume as these shelves are not going to be adjustable once they are set.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

18" in ht would allow plenty of room for any of the 4 figures you've mentioned. I can provide actual measurements after work tonight if you'd like.

Yes please and actual dimension would be perfect as I don't want to much wasted space as I have other Transformers I'd like to display as well.

Just received both Defensor and Superion. When I first got back into collecting, I was sold KO's. Oh well. I can move the KO's into another case in vehicle.

Metroplex: ~10.75” to top of antenna (~11.25” to top of shoulder antenna)
Trypticon: ~12” to top of head (can be a few inches taller with his back guns extended out)
Predaking: ~10.75” to top of head (closer to 12” with his wings set in a higher position)
Omega Supreme: ~10.25” to top of head (~11.5” to top of his tracks, or 14” with a full half track attached)
(See my collection thread for how I have them displayed)

Anyone have tips for getting stickers to adhere to surfaces once they've just kinda... stopped sticking? I got Encore Skywarp and Thundercracker, but the chest stickers won't stick.

Since buying soundwave last month I now bought hound, sideswipe, ironhide, blaster and 7 cassettes for soundwave and blaster.

I have some fixation on finding loose figures with all accessories and stickers. What are your thoughts about stickers? Do you strip the old ones or replace missing ones with repro labels or leave it as it is?

Finding figures with all the stickers on them is pretty intense lol
