I was mad that Ultimate Snake Eyes reused the movie head sculpt from Retaliation wave 2 instead of the sculpt the prototype had(more of a Mike Zeck knight visor) and didn't come with a backpack to store the sword. I found it weird that all V2 iterations of Snake Eyes lacked dedicated sword storage on their backpacks(and not all of them came with one).
Gonna have to amen you on this, Shin. Always bugged me when the modern figs didn't come with their unique vintage-styled backpacks, which were (to me, anyway) such an important part of the original toys and what completed the figure's look. Had to get a custom for Tunnel Rat from Marauder Gun-Runners and customs for Lifeline and Mainframe from a...less reliable source.
Am posting to say nothing more than that I’ve just heard the 6 inch joe rumours- and am totally psyched!
For my money, new characters are fine but shouldn’t just replace a character unless that character is unavailable. I’m down with Sgt. Slammer who was later established as being Mr. C from the cartoon. Mr. C is unlikely to get a figure as a blatant Mr. T knockoff. Sgt. Slaughter is unlikely to get a figure due to licensing reasons and controversy. Likewise, I think people would take any number of named Crimson Guard or Viper commanders with unique personalities, a half-BAT, half-human cyborg, more generally new female Cobra characters, maybe Joes who represent new areas of military expertise like a drone specialist or, once it gets a bit more settled, a Space Force character. Also stuff that’s gotten more “culturally relevant” since ARAH like an FBI profiler/shrink/medical expert with autism or a personality disorder or otherwise compromising condition like diagnosed psychopathy. That’s most of what detective shows are like now and none of the existing cops in Joe fit that. Likewise maybe an MMA fighter, a buddy cop pair. Just gradually introduced.
There are more than enough original design ARAH Joes for me. I don’t care if they make new characters and doubt I would get any of them but if other people want them, great! It would be awesome for me if they made it all new characters that I have no connection or care for because then I can just forget about the line altogether and save a ton of money. I’m not worried about some questionable characters like Sgt. Slaughter either. If they make it, I might get it but I won’t be missing it and go out of my way at all if they don’t.
i haven't been this excited for GIJoe in a long time, i wonder if we'll get Timber as a reuse from the sigma6 line, wouldn't be the first time they're done a reuse from there
Seems it would be too big for a 6" scale line. Took a look at it. It is also too stylized to fit into what will be a more realistic line.
I'll post a pick later, I was at the zoo and they had wolves that came to our waistline, I actually have the wolves posted with my custom Snakeeyes and Storm Shadow, way back earlier in the thread I didnt think it look to bad, but as for style well yeah in that case meh, but it worked for And So style might not be a deciding factor, it'll come down to how lazy does Hasbro want to be.....
Getting 6inch Joes is going to be awesome, but I'm only going to be for them depending on which versions they decide to use. Like I want Cobra Commander from his first appearance in the comics when he's wearing an outfit that looks like something out of Full Metal Alchemist.
This is how I have my Arashikage Clan fight setup, custom Storm Shadow & Snakeeyes with the Sigma6 grey & white wolves, I like it but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea Maybe the stands help sell the size mentally for me lol
Hasbro should just copy the Mega construx style of mini figures and do they Joe line that way (minus the building blocks aspect). In that scale, we could get all the vehicles and bases we want without them taking massive display space and costing that much.
This is what I was hoping for instead of 6” but anything other than the same old 3.75” is a good change to me.
I would definitely be down with a few key 6” Joe vehicles. I would love to see them go with a Jabba’s sail-barge type of thing for Joe. Like what would be key vehicles for Joe that you could definitely add in that would be representative of the toy line as a whole? A Hiss.... bang definitive, you give me a great Hisstank. I have to own it. A couple of those for a Cobra display....everything you could want. What is the definitive Joe vehicle?
I have to agree. The Hisstank is iconic and it's probably the one vehicle I'd have to own besides Serpentor's Chariot.
Most people would probably have to say the MOBAT to go up against the HISS and I loved how it was motorized with tank treads but to me, the ultimate Joe vehicle is the Killer Whale. But I mentioned earlier if they make one large vehicle and I had to choose, I’d want the Rattler.
