I have been trying get my hands on a reasonably priced TFCC Sub series 4.0 Spinister, but with this guy coming out, the game has changed... Still going to get the TFCC one too though.  

 

TR Astrotrain was a military train. Not a good choice for Astrotrain, but it was an actual thing.

 

HasTak could probably design a Ruckus out of the Mirage mold. And a Crankcase out if the Ironhide mold.

 

apeface's head looks like scrapper. I prefer TR Apeface's head to fit Siege Apeface.

 

Crosshairs's vehicle seems to be based on Cybertronian truck like Siege Ironhide.

...actually, they do look kind of similar, now that I think about it. I think a remold of Impactor might work. (Although I'd prefer to see Cybertron Defense Scattorshot or Armada Demolishor remolded from him.)

Also since 1987 I have wanted an Apeface figure. My neighbor back in the day had one. It was excellent. It was joy. I was jealous.

Thought Crosshairs looked off until I realized he had the battle mask in the cartoon.

Spinister confused me with the cockpit shins but it looks great in both modes! Glad it made the cut in the line even though it didn't win the fan vote.

All good reveals. Crosshairs is probably the weakest, but still a damn good reveal. Leader Astrotrain looks incredible. Really blows the TR one out of the water. And I really like that he's just BIG. Spinister is a great looking figure and leaves only two Scavenger members left to finish the crew. Really glad his support put him through despite him loosing at the polls. But by far my favorite is Apeface. It was always weird that in a line with Triple Changing Headmasters, we never got the original Triple Changing Headmasters. Really looking forward to seeing how Snapdragon turns out.

 

I don’t. TR Blitz is actually pretty great IMHO. Plus that would make a LOT of Blitzwings, like every other line. Since when was he Optimus?

TR Astrotrain on the other hand wasn’t complete shit, but it was a huge disappointment for me. This looks like a huge improvement.

 

Astrotrain looks awesome.

I’m guessing the Omni-Force Orbital Cannon will be an homage to the G1 toy gun...in all its ridiculous glory.

 

Wal-mart's Astrotrain reissue sales are going to take a pounding with this WfC guy coming out.

Wondering if they'll do Octane and Blitzwing again. I'm not rich enough for their Legends counterparts...

 

Hot damn, they nailed Spinister. He looks great in both modes, the articulation appears to be stellar, and the transformation is hella clever with that double cockpit trick. I just hope he's a taller deluxe like Ironhide because in MTMTE he was usually drawn as the tallest of the Scavengers (except for Grimmy of course). Crankcase next please? Maybe even Fulcrum?

Crosshairs looks okay. The mold makes enough sense for him and the headsculpt is cool but he's the first mold reuse in WFC that feels kind of lazy to me. Like, he couldn't even get a unique weapon? Or any other new parts?

Apeface is, for the most part, pretty dope. Something about the Horrorcons has always appealed to me so I'm stoked to finally see this. That shit-eating grin on the gorilla mode, WOW. I've always loved that part of his design and they captured it perfectly here. I think the robot and beast modes both look great in general, and I'm glad that the gorilla head has articulation. The jet mode is the weak link imo, it could have used bigger wings. Looks too much like a plane-themed brick for my tastes, at least in these renders.

I'm split on Astrotrain. The robot mode looks superb and I love that he's getting the size and part count advantage of being a leader figure, but those alt modes are pretty messy. In that sense they're pretty faithful to G1 though? I can see him growing on me. If nothing else it's amazing to see him be a steam locomotive again.

 

Trenchfoot from the Alphastrike Counterforce can substitute for Pinpointer. You could also use the one that comes with Legends Windblade.

Hairsplitter (renamed as Shrute) is part of the Phantomstrike Squadron. Singe has yet to be released in WFC.

 

Wow this is my new favorite Deluxe!....Maybe Transformer.....wowzers I'm liking that and the duel cockpit legs, is just so outragous, so Spinister. Honestly, even though Astrotrain is perfection, that Spinister I want even more. It looks like we'll have his buddy Needlenose and I hope Wheeljack. keep that Mirage designer AWAY from wheeljack please!
