Unless I'm wrong, I haven't seen this discussed anywhere else.

Why do you think Bumblebee's Autobot insignia is missing the white triangle on the logo's forehead? Class ranking perhaps? I noticed that Grimlock lacked the same triangle on his Autobot insignia, while Prime and Windblade's insignias are complete.

Thoughts?

 

It's called an animation error.

 

I thought so too, but it's consistent in every episode and only on certain characters.

I guess time will tell if they fix this mistake or not.

Really unsure if it's an animation error. Take a look at this screencap from an upcoming episode:

 

Well, the symbols are part of the CGI model, so they'd only need to make the error once for it to repeat over an over again. Likewise if they were copying and pasting the symbol from an inaccurate template.

 

Somebody asleep on the job, as that's simple a texture and a very simple one at that. Here's another consistent error: Bumblebee's chest lacks the glass window of the car in some shots. I've literally seen it happen in at least 3 out of the 5 episodes so far.

it could have something to do with rankings the high level bot you are the more there is to your symbol, we already have the elite guard symbol, why not add in more to the idea of what it means, hopefully they touch on this in a future ep

 

Oh crud, this has been bothering me since day one & there still isn't a definitive answer! I'd have thought we were beyond the days of such blatantly obvious animation errors, especially on the now almost universally recognised Autobrand! In the absence of any other explanation, & at two years since the last post, I guess a repetitive animation error is what this must be.
In truth, I haven't watched cartoons much since the abandonment of traditional hand-drawn animation, so I don't really know how common animation errors are in this era of soulless, jerky, computer-copy-pasted crud, but what the hell, If it's good enough for Trump, it's good enough for me - I'm just gonna arbitrarily decide my speculation must be correct, wait for someone to dispute my assumption then fall back & call them a liar & a bad reporter if it hits the fan.
