What episode was this scene in? I binged the whole thing last night (guess I felt like torturing myself) and must have missed it.

It is the CW model from the Machinima cartoon. While I would love to dunk on the show for reusing a model, it IS just for a split-second cameo that's also shrouded in darkness.

Honestly same, if the Pretender gimmick had to be incorporated at all I'd want it to just be little Core-sized inner bots that fit into the chests of the main figures that are based on the outer shells (but still fully transform into vehicle modes inspired by the original designs). But I'd prefer it if we just got more figures a la ROTF Bludgeon or Generations Thunderwing that just turn them into normal Transformers with robot modes that are inspired by the shells.

 

If there really was anytime to officially announce Wave 4 of Kingdom, that would be the perfect time.

 

Like CW UM, yeah? Where really, you could lose the little inner bot and the "shell" (primary figure) is still 100% that character. In that case, they wouldn't even need alt modes themselves (though Minimus did). It's an inversion of the gimmick: not TFs "pretending" to be armored humans and monsters, but other species hijacking Cybertronian physiology to "pretend" to be them. They could be dead TF bodies... or emptied clones dyed in the colors of the respective cultures controlling them.. how would one Dye A Clone ?

Just got Huffer today. Loved even more than anticipated, will definitely pre order Pipes once it’s available.

Is the Ranger Puffer 2 pack confirmed to be Huffer repaints or is it just speculation?

 

Yeah, pretty much. I was thinking the inner bot could be slightly larger and keep the ability to transform to make the homage to the original gimmick a little stronger, and they could say the shell is powered armor or something, but really I just want Leader-sized comics-inspired Bludgeon and Thunderwing figures and I don't really care about the specifics as long as they're good figures.

I was saying in the hypothetical where they were I wouldn’t be a fan. Not a huge Optimus guy personally. I wasn’t saying that it was a real possibility.

So, I have my own ideas for how to make Posable Pretender Shells. First of all, they could make the pieces attach as armor to the Pretender of choice. Even if the Pretender Armor diminishes the overall posability of the figure in the shell, it would still make it posable. Heck, that could be done with 5 mm Ports Another way is making the Pretender figure fit into just the torso. Then, they could make the shell limbs and heads posable without the Pretender Figure interfering. Which way will it work?

 

Get the Go Better Studio Upgrade kit, it greatly improves both modes even further, makes the figure almost perfect
