Nice job. I did the same mod and the face is now flush with the helmet. Funny you have MT Meteor along with Big Spring. I posted them fighting each other in the 3rd party MP appreciation thread.

Love Meteor, but I did some sanding on him too, those pegs inside the nose cone that go into the ears. C-clip stays attached now!

 

Oh, and all the transformations I have seen for Big Spring in reviews miss one thing: you have to get everything lined up just right, but his head will tuck all the way up into the hood. Just be prepared to use a spudger to get it back out.

Me too. Clear backed cartoon logos are the best. Thank God for Toyhax/ reprolables.

Yeah, I was forced into transforming mine for the first time because Reprolabels arrived. I'm truly impressed by all three modes, and that price mostly. The stickers don't do much, but it helped break up all that solid yellow in his chest.

 

I sanded the inner face a little, painted the eyes and made some lines, I couldn't make them clean enough, but when not looking too close it looks ok. Also removed the yellow parts from the shoulders.
Definitely, this guy is a ton of fun to play with.

 

You did a spectacular job. The original face looked like Charlie Brown or another Peanuts character. Just a shame the prototype had a good facesculpt.

 

Finally found some time to transform him. Both modes aren't bad but I love the copter mode better. Thank you Chosen Prime and your video instructions!!

Can you guys that have done face mods, maybe post a side by side comparison of the before and after?

Honestly - I have a hard time telling which faces have been modded as I didn't really think the original face was as horrible as everyone seems to make it out to be. I just got in the X2 toys Sky Guardian (who has also received alot of flak for his ugly mug), but what actually bugs me more is the funny swimmers cap look he has going on. Great figure otherwise...

Deciding is hard. I ended up getting both. I'm gonna display Big Spring with his shoulders like the G1 toy and Apache as is since he's basically the same as his cartoon model

I'm still waiting for my Apache to ship.
