So I'm in the middle of reading the novel, and now along with this preview image, it's stating Megatrons now a Triple Changer. So going upon that, just an idea, that the Voyager Megatron could be a intermediary mode between Megatron transforming from Jet to Tank.
Link to where this came from? Megatron's body has changed too much, imo, for him to still be able to transform into his jet-mode. Edit: Found it in a thread in the News forum- http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/2009/05/transformers-movie-universe-preview.html Interesting...I'm still having a hard time imagining him with his new body transforming into his jet-mode......It does help explain the little wings on his tank-mode. Too bad there isn't a toy (that we know of anyways) that somehow has both alt-modes fully built into it. Would make a great base for a Cybertronian Blitzwing kitbash.
There wont be a 3rd mode hes changed to much to become the cybertronian.jet (Anyone Remember his huge bulky legs in the first movie that made up alot of the jet are now gone there tank treads.) He will either be tank or robot altho he can still fly in robot mode due to the engines on his back. SPOILERS Also the guy above who said megatron wont transform into the tank???? in the novel hes in tank mode when he kills sam
It might be an error. The writers of the book might not know that he loses his jet for his tank mode. Or maybe he really is a triple changer but in the movie only.
If he really is a triple changer (which the Voyager would suggest), then it's a good thing I didn't get rid of my original Leader Class Megatron. I'd have been pissed. Besides, I like him enough that I felt a need to keep him and the new LC Megatron. Oddly enough, the original Prime didn't cut it for me, so I replaced him with the new one. I generally go for Optimus over Megatron all the time, but I absolutely LOVE the LC from TF07. Go figure...
