For anyone who wants to know how to get him to support your preferred Fishgun one handed using Tentakil (the only one who can do it), you basically use his knee pads to sort of hook onto the folded in 5mm foot port on the backside of his squidface kibble, it's surprisingly stable, although it can take a little fine tuning to get just right.

Are these guys worth the coin? They are currently on sale here in Malaysia for only $33 a pop for limbs and $48 for Turtler.
Yay or nay? Heard not so good experiences in terms of bad QC in torso mode's leg ratchet connectors and floppy combined mode for King Poseidon. Hmm.

 

If you are okay with the possible expectations you mentioned when you get them in hand/know what you are getting, can get all 5 limbs and the torso at the sale price, have the money, collect mainline Hasbro/Takara... I say go for it!

I don't have the set in hand yet, but they should be arriving any day now!  

 

The last great combiner set to be made in awhile since Takara got shafted by Hasbro. Hmm. Decisions, decisions..

 

What is your evidence that Takara got shafted by hasbro in any way?

 

Where's Takara's OWN, uniquely painted and retooled exclusive main line toys since Legends? None. Nada. Instead they have to put their LG EX stuff on Hasbro Pulse under the bloody pretentious, super limited stock and difficult to sell, over priced "Generations Selects" bullshit.

 

How about how transformers sells so poorly in Japan that the majority of mainline releases have gotten relegated to Takara tomy mall exclusives?

 

Honestly, I think that description fits TakaraTomy Mall exclusives too.

 

They only sell Takaratomy exclusives in limited quantities in JAPAN only. The rest of other collectors in most Asian counturies do not pay as much FYI.

 

But how do you know hasbro forced Takara to do anything? In fact the evidence shows that Takara was losing money on doing their own unique decos and toolings for mainline releases

 

He doesn't have any.

 

I thought they were losing money in general. I was under the impression that the merger was done primarily to help Takara cut costs, whose sales were sliding into the gutter.

 

These things were made-to-order, not super limited. You were guaranteed to get some if you ordered them.

Plus I have it on good authority it's possible to buy them in Malaysia for cheaper than you can in North America or Japan.

Other than a name change it's literally no different now than it was before. And you don't "have to" get these off Hasbro Pulse, literally all the people posting complete combiners the past few days got their Seacons from somewhere other than Pulse.

 

Regardless of whether or not TakTom is better off now than they were, I personally miss the better paints apps (IMO) that they used to put out over Hasbro's releases.

The current mainline figures would look phenomenal if painted like past TakTom releases were.

Hey, I'm upset I didn't get the last 2 I wanted, but that's a bit much. The whole point of Selects is being able to let them release figures that wouldn't be able to fit into a retail line.
