So I ran across this auction today and started to wonder... Is there any evidence of this variation being more desirable and hence more valuable? I would like to hear from some of the more experienced collectors or even sellers out there. Thanks!
Its the first run of Prowl in 1984. To some more desirable, yes. There were a few first run Diaclone remnants included in the 1984-85' line. Like the first run of Skids with City Turbo Diaclone stickers, some of the first mail away Downshifts had Celica plates like the Diaclone versions, early Jetfires had the Macross symbol on the wing, etc... There were also mold variants that were carried over from the Diaclone lines that were later phased out during the production. They all can fetch more money from the right person.
thanks turboedguy. Wasn't there a varation of Bluestreak in diaclone colors too? or maybe just a myth.. hmm that gives me an idea....
could well be that it's the Prowl from the early 90s gold box 'classics' line from europe. From what I understand that prowl did have the diaclone badges for some reason, when no other version had them. To my knowledge diaclone version of Prowl was 'repacked' from the earlier line. Ask Maz, he's the authority on these things.
I don't think claims that a blue version of bluestreak made it to retail in a Hasbro box have ever been substantiated . The gold boxed version did have Diaclone markings.
No, that has been proven false. There has never been one in found in a sealed box. I actually own that one MIB, but the early 1984 with Diaclone stickers exists too.
cool thanks for the info. does anyone know if the classics/uero version had a rubsign? thank you . The gold boxed version did have Diaclone markings.[/quote]
