Can't comment on ratchet. But it's cool that people will get another shot at him. He's an older Studio Series mold right?

SS looks like dogshit, he looked like a greenhighlighter. Glad Takara fixed him

 

All I ever wanted from this line was Ratchet and I’m glad he looks so damn good. Hands down the best improvement of the line, it’s not even close.

Yeah, that's why I stuck with the old DOTM deluxe instead of going for the SS DOTM version, because that's also really lacking in paint.

 

They still haven’t finished Ratchets roof? It’s so weird that it was designed to transform but every release opts not to do it and just leave a massive hideous tray on his back.

I mean, two quick cuts and it’s how it was meant to be but still super weird.

 

Yeah definitely Shockwave and Wheeljack.

People keep trying to say that's springer but:
1) he wasn't in the WFC show
2) that's clearly Shockwave's chest you can see, you can also see part of his shoulder thing.

Wheeljack's silouette is just plainly obvious.

 

Disgusting is a bit much, but it's certainly bland. I ended up painting a lot of mine. The biggest areas of contention were the head and arms. So much detail lost without paint, and it fucks with the "likeness."

Well hell. I was hoping for a better painted Springer. I just sold my Siege version.

 

I for one enjoy the Neon Ratchet I've had for a couple of years now. Even skipped the DotM version.

 

Looks like takara fixed starscream, too bad i already got my definitive starscream in earthrise and dont need a 5th g1 style starscream
Ratchet looks nice might pick that up

 

Ratchet is definitely much better, but still not perfect.

Appreciate the added silver all over his legs, including what seems to be some light wear on the front of his toes. The arms are a big improvement too, and the head looks great.

But, the area above the front wheels should have a black trim - they added the black to the car door part but didn't carry it around all the way. This might have been too small of a paint app to pull off but the bottom of the feet should have a black or dark grey trim to them too. Wish they painted the collar a different color as well.

I wonder if the wheels are going to painted on this one. I'll think about getting him.

Starscream feels like a waste of a slot. Really want to see 07 Optimus.

 

Maybe starscream doesn't have the battle damage?
