Because TakaTom doesn't wanna rub more salt into the wounds of collectors whom missed out on getting Metroplex.

They're considerate enough to not even show his face less people get reminded.

Lemme tell ya, sucks to be in Japan these days :lol
June... JUNE. Meanwhile, the rest of the world will be like, "Studio Series Wheeljack/Brawn/Sweeps? Oh that toy(s) that came out FOREVER AGO? Yeah, great figure(s)." SIGH.

Also, I was challenged before on here by someone claiming to think (or know?) that the Trainbots were selling well... well, generally, when something's selling well, I don't think you'd be hyping it this much. You can go to the TT site, and it's plastered all over the main page, plus TT Mall is trying to push it and it's not even an exclusive. I think they really shot themselves in the foot here, I get what they were going for, and probably thought that with all the train mania in Japan, it'd be a win for them, but even the train model section at hobby stores keeps shrinking every year, so I just don't think trains have the appeal they used to... especially older trains. I would even be tempted to get this if it was made of modern Japanese trains, similar to what they use for their Shinkalion figs, maybe a "modernized" version of Raiden or even JRX.

Interesting Takara doesn't even follow the "86" subline format for Studio.

What a weird claim. It'd be like saying the MCU is doing poorly because you can't swing a cat without seeing ads for it.

Takara is investing in launching an entirely new subline for MPs, so yeah they're going to put some weight behind it. Especially when they're hoping to attract crossovers from both train hobbyists and Shinkasen collectors.

What a weird way of saying you have no idea how marketing works.

They need to pay for the license of the JR train companies. So yes, there will be lots of advertising done since those companies may have also added to the advertising budget

Slammer is a great toy on his own. Regardless of whether you own Metroplex or not, if you enjoyed the other weaponizers you will like him

I do like the mad logical leap taken out of another in-depth article about a MP release which Takara gets regularly for said MP releases.

Not always, if you have a certain volume expectation you are not hitting on a product, sometimes you will put extra marketing behind it to boost sales.

Likewise, if something is selling itself, marketing is sometimes not necessary.

I don't think either is the case here though, to me it reads as marketing something new that they may be able to reach a bigger audience with.
