After 13 years my wife and I are splitting up.

    It's official.

    After 13 years, we are going to be very soon living under different roofs.

    I am already past the part where you're upset and depressed about it. I am simply ready to move on at this point. It was really more my decision than hers anyway.

    We are remaining amicable with each other at this point, hopefully it somewhat stays that way.

    There are still some details to work out, but I plan on moving into my own apartment very soon.

    Well, even thought it's probably for the best, I'm sorry. I had a divorce, and it was pretty tough emotionally for a pretty long time, but my seperation also seems more abrupt then yours. One of the biggest things is that you always picture everything you're going to do in the future with that one person, and that gets shattered. Ultimately though, I am very, very happy I did. Good luck with everything.

    Man, I hate to hear this. Divorce sucks. :(  Too bad it could not be worked out. As hard as being married to my ex was, being divorced is harder. Sometimes bailing out seems like the best option, but rarely is. You get relief in one area, but then a lot of grief in many others.

    Pretty well actually, I they are not happy about it by any means, but they are not devastated either.

    After I got past the initial sucky part, I'm looking forward to my future.

    Shit happens, life sucks sometimes, but you have to live it and can't dwell on things that can't be changed.

    Sorry to hear about it DC. I'm sure you're already doing a great job, but make sure those kids of yours know that in no way is the divorce their fault in any way.
