Nothing much. I mean, it seems a lot more laid back then other fandoms, but that could just be here, I haven't been to other transformers websites so I dunno what the atmosphere is like.

    That's every fandom.

If king cobras aren't friendly then how come they always rush up to give you a kiss?

I can't think of much about the fandom itself that is different from any other fandom I hangout with, but two differences in our collecting habits come to mind...

    1. Collecting transformers means I am more likely to "play" with my collectible than any other thing I might collect. I generally transform the thing at least once and then go pew-pew-pew, fwoosh, or veeeer before displaying it.

    2. We seem more likely to buy expensive, non-collector's market retail product. (Sure, every franchise has its Sideshow/Funko/Gentle Giant collectibles...but you can be a hardcore collector of those franchises without getting into those high-end collectibles. Hasbro has made it hard to be a run-of-the-mill collector these last three years without buying at least one $100+ box set.)

That being said, LEGO fans seem to follow these two trends as well.

Well are fandom is currently in its own World War per say. Almost everyone will tell you why your opinion is wrong or in more extreme cases just insult you. The neutrals like me just sit back and enjoy everything. Except for Energon. Everyone hates Energon.

Oh. We also have lasted longer than most franchises which was already fleshed out by someone else.

Random fan #1 "That. Was the worst show. Ever. Of all time."
Random Fan #2 "Not my fault sir. Hasbro wanted to have a money sponge. Why'd we even watch this?"
Random Fan #1 "Yeaaaaaah...... Let's just forget this."
    Random Fan #2 "Yeah, lets."

I like Energon more than Combiner Wars. Energon had some decent-ish ideas but was failed by bad writing in the original and then a bad dub. Nevertheless, Energon at least tried, and we did get some decent toys out of it. What has Combiner Wars given us and the franchise as a whole?

    A headache.

    I like Energon :(

The only TF shows I've come to actually dislike is Combiner Wars & Beast Machines. I love everything else (except I never watched and never will watch Rescue Bots)

Could it maybe be the longest running fan base? Not that up on other fan bases, but we might be the longest running "cartoon and comic" based fan base. From the 80's to 2017 and still going strong, with most of the original characters and titles; Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Autobots, Decepticons, The Matrix of Leadership, Cybertron....they are the exact same thing now as they were in the 80's. That gotta count for something. XD

Hahahaha oh man we TOTALLY do that. Just look at all the brony hate over the last few years.

We can't even keep from dissing eachother on parts of our own fanbase

Not even close. Spider-man had his first cartoon in the 60s and has had comics even longer. Most of the Marvel / DC characters existed in a bunch of media (Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Batman had adventure serials, for example) the better part of a century now. Even Star Trek and Star Wars have both existed in much the same ways as Transformers, but for even longer.

If anything, we're one of the youngest 'major' fanbases.

I think there is only one other fandom out there that is bigger then Transformers, and that is Star Wars. What makes us different? I use to think it was the nostalgia something cool from our childhood. Gi Joe, Thundercats, Jem why don't they have the following Transformers does? I think it's the mythology.

    TRANSFORMERS FANDOM

"Count on us to find something wrong."

The TRANSFORMERS FANDOM is one of the oldest fandoms around. Much like AUTOBOT KUP, it is impaired and cranky. It constantly builds on and reimagines itself in ways some consider unhealthy. However, its unpredictably can sometimes be an asset. The incredible endurance of the fandom is also undeniable, to the point where even NIGHT STRIKE AUTOBOT OPTIMUS PRIME (R) (TM) is impressed.

Actually, it seems more Armada fans are kids than Prime fans.
