TM2 Megatron is awsome I got mine from goodwill for $5 'coz the kid who had it before me broke one of the joints holding on the right wing. The wing fell off and it looked like crap. But my dad McGuyver'd a paperclip through the plastic and hooked it back on. That was the only damage other than some minor paint chipping on the shiny parts $5 is an awsome price for such a cool toy
So far my fav is BWII Galvatron. Kickass Dragon mode! I love the way they did the neck. Would've been cool if they had done that with Megs.
I got mine at auto assembly this year, signed by David Kaye and Simon Furman too He is a wicked toy, and me being Welsh having a TF who is a red dragon is pretty nifty to me
I was never jazzed by his rubbery neck and slight height disadvantage compared to OpOp but he makes a perfect nemesis for RiD Prime; about the same size and who can resist a firetruck vs. a fire-breathing dragon
The main reason why I bought him back then was the dragon mode...one of the best beast modes. And he got me on a dragon buying spree too!
The little globe thing on Megatron's bot-mode chest, and Tigerhawk's bot-mode right shoulder; look closely, rotate him around (so that the thing inside moves) and you'll see something resembling a chair inside that bubble.
This calls for a repost of a fun pic I did a while back. I also started a thread to compile a list of all TF dragons. It got kinda blurry on the line between dragon and not dragon though.
TM2 Megatron is a great figure. I got one at Wal-Mart when it came out. I had just got a summer job when the first Transmetal figures where out and after watching the four or five episodes of Beast Wars on Cartoon Network (I didn't have a channel showing the whole series until later) I started buying Transformers again. If I ever get room to put out my favorite figures he will be one. It is strange that this Megatron is one of a few that is shorter than his Optimus counterpart sans super modes.
Remember this is big in Beast Wars context. Compared to modern Superme and Leader sized figures, he's relatively small.
I got a pic of that doodad on Megs...My camera sucks...>.< I think, if I could pop the globe off, I could get one of my little ZOIDS pilots to fit in that little chair
I still really want a TM2 Megs, but he's so damn rare in Aus (I think he was released in very limited amounts) and everyone wants him.
I really like TM2 Megs! That dragon looks impressive and so damn cool! The noly thing I don't like is that the robot head is too exposed in Dragon mode, but since it's on the back it's not a great problem after all.
The only copy I have of this mold is Cryotech, which is a shame. I re-entered the world of collecting Transformers at the end of Beast Machines, so I missed out on a lot of good toys. Luckily, for me, most of the best molds have been reissued as repaints.
I dont have TM2 Megs, but I do have Cryotek. In fact, when I started getting back into TFs, I only bought G1, but Cryotek was the first new figure I decided to buy. Something told me I just had to have it, and ever since then I've loved the "new generation." The transformation was hard as hell the first time, and so was getting him out of all the twist ties, but it gave me a sense of accomplishment, and even after all these years he's still one of the most visually impressive Transformers. A definite must have.
