[plus im sure its still early, graphics arent hammered/smoothed out all the way yet. plus games rarely ever look as good in screenshots as they do moving on your TV]

Jumpin' jehosephat! That's one nice looking screenshot. Buying it is not the decision. It comes down to 360 Vs. PS3 and which version has more to offer.

It's hard to say what current gen really is right now though, since "next gen" has been out for almost 3 months now.

Unless IGN specifically said PS2.

If it is a current gen shot it is for the PS2. It is true that Next-Gen is here, but it is still in it's first generation of games for the PS3 and Wii. It will probably be another year atleast until it is spoken of as current Gen. But either way, until the PS2 dies... which might not be for quite a while still... 360, PS3 and Wii are Next-Gen...

That said, I belive this is a PS2 shot  

 

I have to admit. It's looking pretty cool.....A little too cool for BumbleBee, but still cool.

I think this is may be "last gen" shot, too. However, it's probably running on a 360, they were just using the reduced models and stepping up from there.

Bumblebee IS detailed, but keep in mind that Shaders can do some awesome things. There's very little detail in the background, at all. Remember he's bigger too, meaning they can shove a lot more detail into him as everything else doesn't require it as much(buildings are blocky; people, trees, etc. will be too small to use detail, though this will suck when playing as Arcee and Frenzy, no doubt, who will be about human sized, maybe they'll use good LOD techniques).

Basically, we don't have much need for raw power to increase as fast as it has been doing in the past, it's all about more and more clever shaders.

The Wii is awesome at Shaders actually. Mario Galaxy shows this. If only more developers followed suite!

I except TT will get lazy though, and not redo the shaders properly for Wii. It'll probably be a straight PS2 port running in slightly higher res.

 

I'm hoping they at least make this up by including cool mini-games. Like say... arcade-like rail shooter where ya can pic different robots with diff guns. Or, better yet, a rock 'em sock 'em robots where hits chip off armor.*
