This suggests that maybe this is the prequel for the new Transformers Prime TV Show.

I am going to pre-order off Amazon. I don't mind paying $18 for this.

YES! :D  I remember there was some rumor a few months ago about a Transformers novel coming up, I guess this is it. And very welcome it is too.
Hope it's better then the movie prequels and the keepers trilogy, not that I didn't enjoy reading them but, well, it wasn't exactly amazing.

Didn't the Force Unleashed go for a bit more? I don't remember how much I paid for it two years ago, but I bought it for a friend of mine for Christmas while in the States--maybe it was $25 or so at Barnes and Nobel. Hardbacks aren't cheap; they're usually pretty pricey. My copy of Star Wars: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction cost $25.95 as did Revenge of the Sith and a few other hardbacks of mine. $18 is a pretty nice price. If you shop around, you're likely to find it for a little or a lot cheaper elsewhere (too bad I'm in Japan :(  ).

A 352 page guide/art book? :wow: That would be one heck of a guide!

I'll probably just read this and never play the game. I'd enjoy the novel more if anything.

With Dante's Inferno and Halo using the trusty 'ol 5 short story anime DVD tie ins to promote their games, I hope that something like Transformers can stir the same idea when it comes down to pushing this game. A novel is good and all, but who wouldn't want to see Madhouse Studios do a TF short? I know I would!!! I mean, come on guys... Giant robots, anime, DVD, promotion tie-ins... It's a no freaking brainer!!!!

But alas... a man can dream.

I will wait to see just what sort of book it is before deciding to order it.

Very intriguing if it is a novel, would it then be the very first Transformers novel?

Sounds cool. So this is the unnamed TF book Amazon listed a month ago that I already put on my wish list.

I'll wait until I know what kind of book it is. If it's just a novel adaptation, probably not for me, if it's a guidebook, hell yeah, I'm in!

    I'll be getting it.

It seems like this will be a primer for the new game, and new toon. I really hope they do stick to this all in-continuity claim. Cause I'm digging the ideas this new universe represents. It's like everything that was good about G1, Movie, and CGI all rolled into one if done right.
