Not sure if you can since his arm is semi hollow to allow the vehicle kibble (iirc it forms the top part of the nose of the truck) to hold out.

Nicely done. I wish I had the skill and patience to give mine a few flames.

I feel like a wrist tilt would better serve a sword wielding bot.

Of course a balljoint would be preferred.

Man, I went from casual interest to real anticipation for this figure. I really want to paint it up.

He's neat, but the knees on mine are loose, and the head articulation is surprisingly limited. The range on the knees is servicable, since even if he could get a full 90 degree bend, the thigh/shin ratio would impede a kneeling pose I think.

I wish his backpack would lock in more solidly as well. It tabs into the doors, but is very easily dislodged when handled.

I know there has been a lot od discussion of his colours/paint, but taken in isolation I'm fine with everything except the bright blue on his eyes and shield. I do understand that this is not an accurate deco however, and that that is the root of this critique.

I'm pumped to now have a prime to square off with Galvatron. It never felt right always having evasion prime doing that honor.

Thank you so much. They don't look bad. It works for me..

The knee design prevents Optimus from kneeling (or even bending decently).
    Well played Optimus. Well played.

So no one has found a way to store the shield reliably in the backpack? I can shove it up in there and it'll stay as long as I don't touch him or move him much, but I'm hoping for a better way to do it, even if I have to drill a hole somewhere or do other minor custom work.

This figure continues to impress me with it standing next to DMK03. There are areas on it that are the same level and surprisingly some areas have better detailing. It appears DMK was the model (no pun intended) for this new TLK voyager, kudos.

Haha I actually took my DMK-03 out of a box just yesterday (I moved recently and hadn't gotten around to it) and I was comparing the two as well! Definitely surprisingly some areas of this Voyager have better detailing as you said. The front skirt armor being a good example.

    YES

holy shit this is one baddass figure.

I went looking for it, and when i finally seen one, i was VERY surprised at just how damn good it looks.

Heroic..detailed to hell...bot mode looks the part, and actually makes me like the new optimus as much as the original design from early movies. Sword storage. This is one seriously cool bot mode. Its hard to believe they NAILED the look so hard. The torso, shoulder armor, and collar area are done like only a statue or model kit could achieve. its fantastic.

Alt mode is just fine..rolls nice. TFmation is a trip. Love how they dig the legs. what a new way to do optimus.

Bottom line..Im gunna say this is the best voyager prime, with competition from HFTD Battle Blades Optimus Prime, and Evasion prime. This thing scales with galvatron and really makes me want to watch AOE again. Im gunna say, taken into account of new toy hype...im going with possibly the best voyager prime for a movie collector. Only HFTD could tie or beat it..but thats me.

One thing I dont get with the new prime..didnt he get his sword from lockdowns ship? I cant remember.. Why would he trade his original form with integrated arm swords for no weapon?

Great figure. This guy just does not look as good in pics than it does in hand. Even the sword is a nice mold! The shield is cool too, but I do with this came with a dedicated GUN..WTF?

    Love this one.

To me, I like this mold too but I think another does it better...

    Transformers Prime: first edition Optimus

The execution into bot mode leaves practically zero truck kibble anywhere. Granted, it wasn't 100% show accurate (roof behind the feet and wheels inside the shoulders) but man... if they used THAT mold's transformation design for this TLK toy - if even as a basis - I think it would have been a guaranteed grand slam.
