Whoa. I just noticed that his arms connect to his body below his shoulders. That's... odd.

Even though it sucks that the FE have been cancelled for the time being. I definitely will get this Bulkhead until then. It's better than paying excessive amount of money for one figure. Especially since people like to sell them at ridiculous price ranges.

Why sell something for less than it is worth? If you have a stream of buyers saying they will pay $100, why would you turn that down and demand they pay $20?

No, the manner which the windscreen, the hood and the headlights are hinged does not allow you to rise it up.

    Wow, what a shame.

I'll still buy him, though, since the FE will never be worth $100 to me.

Yeah, I figured this would be exactly the case when we saw the pics of it at Toyfair. Such a shame that the forced simplicity on the RID line really destroyed Bulkhead. The way the chest folds up on the FE one isn't really even that complex!

I agree. It feels like Hasbro has really been overcompensating since ROTF/NEST/HFTD.

A lot of people who said "it looks fine" or "good enough": my guess is you don't have the FE mold most likely, because it doesn't look "fine". It looks "passing" but compared to the FE mold its crap.

Nice review, I look forward to picking one up once he gets released. Even though it doesn't hold a candle in the looks department to the FE version, the figure still looks great for what it is. I'll be ignoring all the cork-sniffers who keep smack-talking the RID line from now on.

It's pretty much the two chest doors and grill that make him look worse than he is. The grill looks like it should of been slightly higher onto the body. The chest doors look like they need to be larger If you imagine him with out those parts, he's got a pretty good bulky body. Maybe Dr. Wu or somebody could make new complex chest doors for him, that would give him a big visual improvement. I still like it anyways though.

Even the OP has both, and admits this one isn't bad at all.

I agree to that. it's not a bad toy. It's just that FE Bulkhead is a supremely great toy.

It's kinda like FE vs. RID Cliffjumper.

RID's version of Bulkhead isn't a bad toy. In fact, its a pretty nifty toy. It just pales in comparison to FE's, that's all.

Again: nifty, and decent. Just not even in the same league as FE.

    Poor financial decision? Really?

My Takara FE Bulkhead cost $80 shipped and I don't regret purchasing him, not one bit. It would be a "poor financial decision" on my part to pay $50 for this piece of shit Voyager when it comes out at Australian Retail, when there is a much better toy out there in the same size class.

Also, even if the FE didn't exist, the Cyberverse Commander looks a million times better then it. When a $10-$12 toy looks better then a toy in a higher size class, you know the toy is shit.

Not too bad. I'm getting him regardless, but now I don't feel so bad about missing FE.

the only real bad thing about the RID is the hood being the stomach rather than the chest
aside that the figure is as good as the FE
the weapon sucks but is not fixed so its not a big deal
articulation wise, Rid has arm swivel so that makes him slightly more articulated than the FE
many complain about the wings, but they don't look bad at all
both have same detail level, maybe one have more in some areas than the other but still
paint applications sucks on the RID, but we already have seen good molds that have some aweful paint jobs(and have official repaints that makes them look incredibly good)
finally the windows, yeah, they are just a flat green part, rather than FE clear windows, but nothing a good paint job cant fix
so, aside the lack of paint and the hood stomach(maybe someone can figure out a mod for it) i see no real problem with the figure
is almost in the same "league" as the FE, now, someone may prefer the FE, but that is more personal opinion than anything else
the figure is still good on his own
now ill wait for a Good repaint that works better for it(and a weapon)

Except some people actually love RiD Cliffy better - I do.

RE: Bulkhead. Still deciding myself. Leaning toward a buy even though I do think FE might be the better toy.
