    Fuel in the air from the failed Bulava missile lauch. Ruskiees have been having problem with that missile for quite some time. Whenever they fix the thing that's bothering them, another one crops up sooner or later.

    That's pretty much what I thought. But I guess the atmospheric conditions were just right for the spewing fuel to be lit up very clearly.

    My only problem with that simulation is that their blue spiral is getting smaller towards the centre of the white wheel, whereas in all the pictures it's getting larger.

    This is one of the few times I can actually say this, I am a rocket scientist, but i'm not a aero guy so I can't personally expalin this. It's very pretty to watch though!...
