So I got stuck with 2 Cybertron Metroplex. Here's what I did with my second one. Still need to to paint out the details.
Nice, dude! However, I'd like to see a larger pic and I can't seem to see one through the link. Can you blow it up somewhat, so we can see the detail? Yeah, I could download it, I guess, but that requires more effort (for me, that is).
Here's the direct link to the google images gallery http://picasaweb.google.com/larkinvain/CybertronMetroTitan You can actuall zoom in on it using the magnifying glass on the upper right hand corner.
Freaking NICE! I still need to get an original, and this is making me want to get a repaint myself. lol
Thanks. There's still more work to be done. I have to paint the details and then seal it. The paint I have the easiest time with is the Krylon made for plastic. I've tried others and this seems to work best for me. Takes a lot of patience and lots of thin coats.
that does look pretty sharp. If I had a money tree, I'd do the same thing, as well as have my go at one of those fort max customs from this fella too.
Found it! A bit better, but not quite as large as I'd like still. Looks like it came out of the box, man!
Can you explain your process a bit, I don't have a real work area or anywhere really to spray, and I always end up too impatient
First I take apart the figure as much as I can. I have a real hard time with pins so for this one I left parts that were pinned on. Clean the the parts with soap and water and let dry using a towel and then a hair dryer. (I'm impatient too) Cover in masking tape (I use the blue painters tape) parts that you don't want painted and use and exacto to cut off excess on the ones that you want painted. Then paint. Light coat... wait 15 minutes...another light coat... another 15 minutes and so on until you get the desired coverage. Let dry under a nice bright lamp. Use the hair dryer to help it a bit but not too close. You don't want to heat the paint you want to dry it. Then assemble. Assembling is the hardest part especially if you are like me and don't keep track of screws really well.
