Just preordered these guys at ToyDojo, merry Christmas to me .

And with the prefect effects stuff coming out I'm gonna make Super God Pimped-out Ginrai!

 

Supposedly... translucent window parts on the Ginrai cab also, in addition to chrome on Godbomber.

Nice touch, but wasted if replacing with the PE transforming cab. I'm likely just going to stick with the original Legends release for both.

 

According to the rumors it would have mostly been the gauntlets and chest piece and wings, no leg addons.

Shortly after takara showed off super Ginrai and godbomber it is assumed hasbro ditched their original plan, put Ginrai in the boxset, removed iron apex and added metalhawk

 

Ironically, that God Ginrai would've actually sized up perfectly with TR Overlord  

 

Gotcha. Although that still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Like someone else said, a deluxe version of Godbomber would have ended up being just random bits of small armor.

 

Well yes I've heard that before, I just wonder about the story of how BBTS tried to hunt down more Ginrais to supply demand, and then when their exclusive boxset from Hasbro was revealed it suddenly included the Ginrai mold instead of just a repainted PM Prime. Was it because BBTS pushed Hasbro to use the Takara mold or did Hasbro decide all on their own to use it and it coincidentally gave BBTS more of what they wanted? Just behind the scenes stuff that we'll never really know, but I think it's interesting.

 

Oh I agree it doesn't make sense, but it does help explain why pmop is so different from Ginrai.

Basically hasbros was designed first and the idea of iron apex as a delux was born.

Takara decided to change the design for their release and make their own godbomber

Hasbro saw how well super Ginrai was received and ditched their original plans

 

If that's true, Hasbro's logic still doesn't make sense to me. If they designed PMOP first, with the intention of making an Apex Armor for him, then they should have known that it would have to be larger than a deluxe based on how the original G1 fit the original PMOP. I just can't see them not understanding what Takara understood just fine. But then again, I can't speak for Hasbro.

 

Meh, both companies make weird decisions at times

 

If Iron Apex were in a box set only, he wouldn't have to meet the strict criteria of a deluxe. Given when the leaks about this occurred and what they are and are not correct about, it's fair to guess Hasbro had different budgets/intentions for the box sets and might have had a larger budget for new parts/figures.

 

The Chosen Prime has taken it off "waiting list" status and now has the full preorder available.

 

God Bomber just arrived for me today from HLJ.

Yaaaay.

 

I'm really not happy with the fact that orders are already up for this, but final product pictures aren't.

For some reason, i thought the release date for this was sometime in June.

 

Just preordered mine from BBTS. Hopefully on my trip overseas I can hunt down the Takara Wheelie with Goshooter so I can have all 3 headmaster juniors.

 

Alas, I think it's November.

 

TF Source is listing Nov and BBTS is listing Q3 which puts it at no later than end of Sept. Would be nice to know for sure.  

 

TTMall says November I think I would hazard they know best.

 

Just threw down a preorder. Figured why the heck not. If Hasbro ends up releasing God Bomber/Apex Armor in one of the remaining sets(hopefully we'll know by SDCC), I'll just cancel. If not, I'll sell Magnus Prime and keep the blinged out version of God Ginrai and get the exclusive Headmasters. The definition of win/win.
