PLEASE HELP - how do you tell the difference between the original MOSC Frenzy / Laserbeak and the KO one?
The card for the KO ones will usually look like they just came off the printing press. - IE a surprising lack of wear for a 20 year old package. Font on the back of the card is usually a bit off, sometimes with spelling errors. The ones i've seen in person have Frenzy and Laserbeak on the front, but on the back both have instructions/tech specs for Ravage and Rumble. Have you got a specific link?
I'm guessing it's a KO? It does look like it has a bit of wear to it though, but probably not enough for a 20 year old toy.
Here's a link to Kool Toyz's repro/KO of frenzy/lazerbeak: http://www.kooltoyz.ca/cassettes.html Lookin quite similar to this one other than the tapes being reversed.
The only surefire way to know is to get a close-up look of the text on the back of the card and check to see if it looks strange. Even though there are a lot more like-new knockoff frenzy/laserbeak sets than like-new authentic frenzy/laserbeak sets, the latter do exist.
Could just look for one with a price tag. S'what I'm gonna do. I need one to go with my Rumble/Ravage which I bought long before this whole mess.
Yeah, I got a clear set, and hopefully soon a black set. now I just need a Rumble (or Frenzy however you see the red one as) to have a little army when I get my Soundwave reissue.
