I think he meant a "OH NOES WE LOST THE NEXT GEN RACE!!" Speach. To which I say that would be premature.

A new PS3 upgrade, and make you buy a thing to upgrade or just make PS3 more expensive.

That's not something 360 owners could be jealous of, they already have it. HD-DVD drive.

It probably is, all the "real time' repeating strongly points to that. I can't think of anything that "real time" is a big deal with.

If not, has a new Twisted Metal been announced yet? Those were kinda big (and for a while, kinda good) games, that I can't remember hearing a word about.

 

It's likely something the 360 already has, and Sony will just announce it as a new innovation and claim ignorance or "we've been working on it for five years" when people point out that they stole it.

 

i think i am stupid. but could someone let me know what the heck is "real time"? and whats the difference between real time and fake time? I am serious, because i don't know.

 

I think they are pertaining to a game where time progresses according to time in the real world. So If you turn on the game at midnight, it is midnight in the game.

So most likely this is going to be an online war-based game.

 

Uh, no. That's not what that means at all. "Real time" in the context of video games, means that they are referring to actual game footage. Not a cut scene, using higher quality graphics than the playable portions of the game.

 

Right. Non-real time would be a prerendered video sequence like the majority of the cut scenes in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Real-time would refer to sequences rendered "on the fly".

Also, if you read PS3's "Home" beta signup page which just has a disclaimer can be quoted as, "Home™ is a real-time 3D, networked community that serves as a meeting place for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) users from around the world, where they can interact, communicate, join online games, shop, share content and even build their own personal spaces."

This leads me to believe it would be Home related, maybe an open beta. I believe they have referred to Home as something that the 360 owners could only dream of so it fits.

Then again, maybe it has something to do with the new redesigned PSP. Who knows...
