Thoughts anyone? Personally I didnt mind the twins in ROTF I actually thought they were quite cool and I was one of the few who didnt think they were actually racist at all. Taking on devastator was definitly one of there highlights.

Great, if they got killed instead of Ironhide  

 

I'd have liked to see them again, I happened to actually like them [and their death scenes as described in the Comic and novel is just heartwrenching].

 

Their sacrifices in DotM would have redeemed themselves in the eyes of critics.

I still have no idea why they didn't think of that.

i told you before that bay plan was to kill ironhide first and then the twins

ironhide was going to die it didnt matter if the twins stayed or not

 

maybe bay was afraid of stil lreceiving the racist bots bash, even despite what happened to them

 

Redemption or not, I really think they were simply cut for practical reasons. They would have required a complete redesign on CGI models because GM changed the cars, and it probably wasn't feasible for them to spend that much money doing that for two characters that only appear in one short scene, when there were already 10 other Autobots.

 

Odly enough as I was writing this post I pictured that scene in my mind except I would of extended it with the twins running towards iron hide as he got shot then have have skids kneel down to iron hide as he dies. Sentinal reloads and shoots skids then mudflaps tries to run to skids but also gets shot then it cuts to sam yelling to bumblebee.

 

Whatever.

 

I am sure they were removed specifically to not receive complaints, ROTF's main highlight of complain was the sheer existence of the Twins, taking them off made the public more easily sold on DOTM [otherise half of the public would go "TWINS AGAIN? FUCK THAT SHIT I'M NOT WATCHING"].

In fact, killing them off would make things worse in the eyes of most, everyone would go "Oh yeah, the stereotyped ******ed black soldiers appear then are killed off, an offense to any black members in the audience" regardless of the circumstance of their demise.

twins were going to have more scenes, they were going to have a scene in where they tosses a smart car and they were meant to have appeared in bot mode (otherwise, why the heck they're alt modes are there) during the scene in where Optimus is angry cause the humans didnt told him of the ark thing

 

Problem is, this is not a matter of opinion, this is a matter of fact, Ironhide really was going to be killed off regardless, as confirmed by...well...everything.

 

in bay plans the scene would had went like this

"Sentinel kills Ironhide, trys to kill bee, Skids sacrifices himself to save Bee, Sentinel continues shooting at Bee, Bee dodges, Mudflap attacks sentinel for protect the others, Sentinel kills mudflap"

I'm black and I see more stereotypical stuff on everyday TV worst than 2 autobots. Jazz was black & the 1st to die in the trilogy...nobody found that to be stereotypical? I actually didn't mind the twins...they brought personality to the autobots. Now if Bay made their alt modes '64 Chevy Impalas with gold Daytons or 28" rims & switches then we would have a problem.

 

I would have been fine if the Twins came back (then subsequently died).

 

They weren't missed. However if they died heroically like in the book, I would have hated them less.
