Well, first, these are vintage toys, not something you go into a store and buy at retail. The price is always fluctuating and I bought some on the cheap end. Dealers do this all the time.

Second, there are a lot of these out there as others have said. What I bought was a drop in the bucket. What I end up doing with them will probably be to sell them, yes, but considering how much these are currently going for, it's unlikely I'll be able to "flip" them like scalpers do by just putting them up on Ebay when i get them.

Furthermore, if someone said they needed to buy one for their kid who was dying of cancer and who loved G1 Jazz, I would let him have one :p

So, I don't think I'm a scalper, but feel free to disagree...

Hmm I wouldn't be surprised if these were found in Japan. It would make a lot more sense as to why those Singaporean ebayers have so many of them.

I know for a fact that ksgj03 goes to Japan really often (about every 2 weeks according to his colleague) and anglo has people working in Japan. trans_form claims he got a lot of his rare stuff (like the 6 white headmasters and the dino cassettes) from a friend who goes to Japan really often, and I'm pretty sure guerre_stellari has people working in Japan too (some of their stuff is listed as being in Japan instead of Singapore).

Now the real question is how the Japanese stores were able to get so many Jazzes and Sideswipes, especially in European and American packaging...

Sigh I wish I saw these when I was in Akihabara in August.. That would have been a nice find. Did Himawari happen to mention which store it was?

Well its unlikely your keeping them to make an army of Jazz', so it would appear that your motivation is to buy low and sell high when the fervor passes... which would in all likely hood paint you as a scalper, everyone however has a different interpretation of what the term scalperactually means however... so i imagine you will be a plethora of varied opinions.

Scalpers usually buy new items at the normal retail price and turn around and sell them for much higher than that immediately. This is called "flipping". I'm not buying new items, I'm not buying the items at retail price, and I am not selling them immediately (or at least, if I do end up selling some of them immediately, it will be at the same price I bought them for--I might do this for a few if I feel like I bought more than I can afford). I am not flipping.

more power to you Might gaine, you got them for a cheap price on ebay, its not like you went to toyrus and bought up the one toy that everybody wanted.

and he bought them off ebay....from a seller that probably paid alot less for all that jazz. I wouldve done it too, if I thought it was worth it. now you guys are complaining about people that buy from scalpers, not just the scalper, what gives?? if you guys wouldve been quicker on the draw, one of you couldve been a scalper as per say.

    good grab MG.

$330 x 8 is quite a bit of coin to pony up.

Whomever has the funds to do that, go nuts.

Malach Ra' reasoning seems most sound, all though im sure there are people who are inclined to believe that scooping up multiples of any good deal would justify a tag of scalper... I begin to believe unjustly in this case, but its still bound to happen... the reasoning being that you have effectively taken away the opportunity for others to capitalize on the same deal...i wouldnt call that scalping, i can see why it would annoy people i suppose... anyway thats a lot of cash to put in one basket regardless lol.

I'll share soon. Just give me a day or two.

Why share? Because we're exchanging information in this thread about these things. I appreciated learning about the Jazzes from this thread, and so I'm giving back to the thread by giving information about Mirages.

And it's not like there's not going to be plenty to go around... It's not like I found the only 3 of them or something. Look at how many Jazzes have been on ebay recently.

wow, nobody has touched the sideswipes. and its still a good price, so there is your cash cow right? wrong-everyone knows that the original hasbro jazz's are worth alot more than most gigs, thats why they wanted them at that good price. hence the complaining and the subject of scalping is brought up yet again. am I right, sure seems like it. so nobody wants to touch that gig cash cow?

Are these really genuine or just some rather elaborate and well made KOs?

I would love to get some but the fear of receiving a KO gets in the way
