Recently I've been organizing all of my Transformers cartoons and movies to sort them in their respective continuity. We all know that some continuities are kind of a mess which means that some placements of seasons/series are debatable.

This is why I'd like to hear feedback from you guys on my current continuity list:

My main gripes with this list are:
    1. When do the Transformers: Animated shorts take place?
    2. When do the Transformers: Prime and Transformers: Rescue Bots seasons take place?
If there's anything else that should be changed or added, please let me know :D

    Here's some changes:

-Scramble City did not follow G1 cartoon continuity, as Trypticon was born after the movie.
It is in its own 'offshoot' continuity

    Split the rest into G1 U.S. & G1 Japan
    -season 4 & 5 are indeed part of the same G1 U.S. continuity (S1, S2, Movie)
-The Japanese series are NOT part of the same continuity since they split after S3. These are in 'G1 Japan'

-I haven't seen the Japanese BeastWars series, but I suspect they deviated from the regular BW series. They might belong to another BW Japan continuity but someone else will have to confirm.

    Also,

Transformers: Cybertron did not follow after Energon continuity in the cartoons. It was rebooted.

Beast Wars II and Neo take place after all three seasons of Beast Wars. Harder to say whether they're before or after Beast Machines, or in an alternate universe.

Don't know about 1 and 3 but I can try to answer number 2.

Rescue Bots Seasons 1-3 are supposed to run simultaneously with Prime. However, Season 4 is confirmed to run simultaneously with Seasons 1 and 2 of Robots in Disguise. Rescue Bots Season 4 starts in Season 1 and ends in Season 2.

You are both right and wrong, it's true that in the Japanese cartoon continuity Trypticon existed before 2005 but unite warriors and the legends manga reveal that there was two Trypticons, the first would be destroyed in a fight with Metroplex and whose components would later be used as basis the newly reconstructed model that was built in five faces of darkness.

I think the G1 US/G1 Japan distinction is an important distinction to keep in mind. Neither continuity is more official than the other. I follow the G1 Japan continuity. To me, ignoring the Rebirth 3 parter to gain over 100 more Transformers episodes is a worthy trade off.

I've seen BWII but not BW Neo. I don't recall anything in BWII cartoon that directly contradicts the US Beast Wars accept that in the BWII Movie Optimus Primal appears and he has the Matrix.

As in the 1986 movie? Yes, in a fashion, as it leads into Transformers 2010 (though it was released several years later in Japan). Scramble City kind of bridges the gap between S2 and the movie to S3.

If you mean the Bay films... nope. While basically everything up to that point had been lumped together in the mishmash that was the Japanese continuity, by the films theyd sort of given up and said "ok fine this is different we're not even going to call him Convoy", so the films are not part of Japanese G1 from what I am aware of.

Thought so. And isn't Animated it's own thing too in Japan.
Not that it isnt perfect for inclusion since it plays in the future.

As I said, by that point they'd sort of given up on having a single continuity. Animated is it's own thing, to my knowledge, as is Prime/RiD2015 (though RiD started off being treated more separately from Prime).

Huge thanks for the input everyone! I've made some changes, but there is still room for improvement.

My main gripes with the list are:
    1. When do the Transformers: Animated shorts take place?
    2. When do the Transformers: Prime and Transformers: Rescue Bots seasons take place?
    3. Which continuity do Q Transformers and Robotmasters belong to?

After seeing both Beast Wars II and Neo, I think it's supposed to be in it's own contained universe with some small G1 references, but nothing completely tied to G1.

For #3 Q Transformers is simply a mini comedy show which speaks about past TF series and pokes fun at local area cultures in Japan. It came out after the TF4: AOE, but again, it's in a timeline in itself.
Robotmasters is part of a merged universe involving the Japanese continuities of G1 and Beast Wars / Beast Wars II.

Which is where the cartoon was made and the story written. Like Car Robots/RiD, the US got a botched localization. Which I guess is fair, since Japan got an even more botched localization of Beast Wars.

My main gripe is that the Japanese G1 cartoons don't effect the story of the Hasbro/Sunbow cartoon. Same thing with the Japanese Beast Wars. And Transformers: Go! However the Hasbro cartoons still occur in the timelines of the Japanese exclusive stuff, so its hard to call them their own continuity.
