Dude you'll like anything as long as it's got a brand you like slapped onto it won't you? If they made a Mary Jane movie about her acting career and for some reason made her a spy with only one mention of Spider-Man would get excited that? Cause that's some next level optimism right there.

I'd rather have Yost write a Scarlet Spider movie.

She did. She (and Black Cat) were also in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Wasn't that their plan for an Aunt May movie?
What Sony Has To Say About That Spider-Man / Aunt May Movie - CINEMABLEND
    http://io9.gizmodo.com/aunt-may-spin-off-prequel-movie-rumored-ha-ha-ha-no-1657317843

Course Marvel's attempt the comic series Trouble was just as bad as the above ideas sounded.\
    http://io9.gizmodo.com/10-comics-marvel-would-desperately-like-to-forget-they-1508292020

But that Sony was seriously even considering this shows how bad it could get.

I have less issue with this nonsensical solo stand-alone whateverness than I do with the Venom one. These two don't NEED to get tied into Spider-Man, but Brock/Venom definitely does, and little mister "everyone loves him" Tom Hardy being in the role doesn't change that.

Their going to drag the Spiderman franchise down is what scares me.
I bet you the only reason they agreed to the deal with Marvel is so they try and ride the Spiderman hype after the deal expires. So we'd have a Spiderman in the MCU, then a new one in their whatever-verse, audiences will be confused as to what the fuck is going on and Sony makes barely enough to make another shitty movie. It will be oversatuation of conflicting Spidermans.

I can just see this working, in a "Thelma and Louise" sort of way.

These are two middle-class superhumans few people care too much about, what with Black Cat being a Catwoman ripoff and Silver Sable being a mercenary leader. And they're anti-heroic characters, which can be a lot of fun.

This is a team-up that could really go right. Of course it could really go wrong too. But let's wait and see.

Silver and Black sounds like an awesome 80's cop/crime show.

Part of me is interested in what they can do with this, have villains like Hammerhead, Tombstone, Silvermane. Play it off as a sin city gang war, with elements of espionage and grand hiest plot structures, with an overlapping plot in the background of the events. Have scenes taking place in prisons, restaurants, high rise penthouses, theaters, warehouses.

Could be good. A la Spectacular Spiderman Gangland episode fight sequence

But Sony, with their desperation will mostly key in on the things that will hurt this film.

I could see this working as a prequel origin story for both Black and Silver and setting up their interactions with Spiderman in later movies.

That news sounds awesome to me. To finally see Kraven, the Chameleon and the Scorpion on the big screen.

Suicide Squad was halfway decent IMO. I liked the characters and the costumes they had, but I feel they could be better used. Let's hope this film can be more effective.

Big concerns I have for this.

A lot of characters and with that they won't be focused on due to keeping it to Black and Sable, so I feel most are going to just be character by names.

Scorpion, Chameleon and Kraven being used in this film, although awesome, does this mean we won't see them in the mcu? If so that sucks.

    Lets keep in some things

    1. Nobody from marvel, sony or some reliable news site has said that characters that appear in the Sony films cant appear in the MCU, for all we know there could be some kind of Quicksilver like deal, i do hope someone asks Kevin Feige thats going on during the spidey press junket

    2. Its likely Feige currently has no plans to use any of those in the MCU as of yet, just because we would love to see someone like Kraven, does not mean he's a character Feige is looknig at using for now, maybe he has other villains in mind for Spidey 2 and 3 like maybe Mysterio

In a way, I'm surprised Sony has Spider-Woman. Other then the name, she really doesn't do much with Spiderman. I've seen her more as an Avenger. I guess she just gets lumped into the Spider-brand because of her name.
