I love this thread. Alternators made me get back into the TF universe.

    Slightly back into TFs again.

Tried recreating Tokyo dirft scene with some MPs and forgot these aren't really the MPs I wanted.

So I decided to take out some of my Alts/BTs to add more cars.

Haven't taken pics yet, but 14 years after I bought Alternator Smokescreen I finished my collection of all 27 Alternators (swapping American Rodimus for Kiss Player). I managed to get the normal 23 at retail and the SDCC N. Prime and my Rodimus when they were originally available (all retail purchases) however I never saw the Wal Mart Rumble or Ravage in stores. I refused to buy them on the secondary market for a decade out of spite (and ruining the accomplishment of buying them all in their natural habitat) but the hole in my collection was a constant annoyance as I was actively trying to complete an entire line which I had never done before or since but came up short. Last week I finally decided to swallow my pride and finally purchased the last two which arrived today. Feels damn good to finally put this to rest. I can now sleep at night snuggled closely with my robo kitty.

I miss Binaltech. All of them in 1/24 scale...at least one Transformer line had consistent scale. I just wish MP Transformers could've done the same in vehicle mode.

I still love the look of the MP-01 and Alt/BT combo that was popular back in the day. I never had such a set up myself, but always admired collection pics of it.

I'm always fighting the temptation to buy more Binaltech/Alternators. Bot modes seem to vary from "okay-ish" to "oh god, why?" but those vehicle modes are so freaking sweet.

I have Binaltech Arcee (vehicle mode is awesome, bot mode is ghastly) and *cough* Kiss Players Prime (vehicle mode is awesome, bot mode is not bad all things considered) so far. A few others have definitely caught my eye.

I wonder if the level of tech they've developed in the MP line would make it possible to design an "Alternators/Binaltech" style transformer today that still nails the modern vehicle mode so well but has a much better bot mode. Might require a more complex transformation and a higher price tag of course.
