Oh, I don't think it's unexpected. I remember Chris Sterett mentioning in his interview that these 3P "wars" are a result of the 3P makers learning of Takara's plans and as a result, they all scramble to get their version out before Takara does.

But then again, we had Reflector and Insecticon wars, and nothing came of them, so who knows.

 

Part of what I love about Willis is his alt mode accuracy and this design drops that like a hot potato. Hello generic truck. MMC still wins for me.

Can't be too healthy for all these 3rd parties to be competing with each other all the time with the same characters now. Maybe the 3P MP bubble will burst.

 

I don't get comments like these. Since FT has intention of making every character, why wouldnt they reveal a prototype when other competitors are coming to market. FT potentially has designs for many of them already in the works.

On topic, I love that it reaks of bad sunbow animation. Very nice job, i held off on buying the mmc and badcube, funds are limited. I will get this and hope the others go on sale one day.

Their alt mode mirrors look real and the aftermarket canopy that bolts on the pickup seals the deal. Its very realistic in alt mode and very toon in bot. Just how I like it.


fanstoys, please tell us why he has a sprocket there on his right inner ahoulder but none on the left? Looking at the center pic.

 

Looks pretty good, if a bit boring stylistically. The only major issue that pops out at me right away is that his 3 hole weapon needs to be on a squiggly pole, not a straight one.

They seem to have way too much on the table though. They are incredibly slow already, I'm not sure I get the point of revealing so much. By the time this is out, we'll have an official version.

 

Think I'll stick with the MMC Trailbreaker.

 

Well this certainly came outta nowhere. I was hoping Fanstoys would give us some updates on Hoodlum though. Glad to see them doing more carbots. Knowing me this will be my MP Trailbreaker. FansToys Hoist can't be too far off from this release.

 

Mmc and BC are by far the best looking. Ft is OK and tw is a no-no.

 

I don't like it. Bot mode head does not look quite right and alt mode looks way off . IMO both MMC and BC have much better looking versions. Given FT's track record of slow releases I really don't see this coming out until next year, way after the other 2 companies. All in all this seems like a strange release. Why not announce something no-one else is doing?

Yeah. If they keep this up they're going to get left behind. Offering this probably a year after 2 other very respected companies bring theirs to market seems foolish.

They have so many toys anounced now, I can't even get excited.
