I'm caught between these two quotes. I'm happy enough with my Rhino set, not that great a Beast fan, but if the BW set comes with prior unreleased information about the series I may bite. I'd also love to see a Shout! American set of Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory, even the one-shot Transformers Zone.

 

I am so please to read this news. Back when the Rhino sets were out I was all G1 but as soon as BW was gone I wanted them. Now I'll have my chance.

 

I hope its a US exclusive and its packed with lots of goodies you know when its released in Europe its all that sensor crap.

 

The old Rhino sets are seriously lacking in bonus features. Should they put out a complete series box set with lots of great bonus features, I'll be happy to upgrade.

F'ing FANTASTIC!!!! I have been searching for the Rhino Sets for so long.....but no more!  

 

Have the Rhino editions and they are fine for me, it would take some OMFG type special features for me to even think about considering picking these up on DVD. Now on Blu-Ray, then it would be an easy decision to pick these up.

 

Why is everyone asking for a Blu-Ray release of this?

a) The series was made in 1995, any possible cleaning up of the footage or audio would be practically unnoticeable. In order to warrant a Blu-Ray release, IMO, you'd basically have to redo the entire series, which is wayyyy too expensive for a toy commercial whose toys have been off the market for well over 15 years.
b) DVDs will play in all Blu-Ray players.

That being said, I missed Beast Wars when it came out (I grew up with G1 and the most I saw of Beast Wars was 10 seconds, to which my response was "OPTIMUS PRIME IS NOT A MONKEY, this is stupid..." and clicked off.), but I've heard it's really good.

I have all the Rhino sets, but for some reason I am missing a disc in my season 1 set. Glad to know I will be able to have a complete set again.

Yes!!! I hope it comes with the full intro. It made me mad that not one episode contained the full intro. I'll buy it.
Then I'll have 3 copies of G1 Season 1 part 1 (Tried to by it separately :-()
2 copies of the Full G1 (Rhino and Shout)
2 copies of Beast Wars (Rhino and Shout)
1 Beast Machines.

And you're missing out on the best TF show around. Granted, there's a lot of filler episodes in Season 1, but by the last few episodes of S1, it finds it's feet and only gets better.


And as for the people asking for a R2 release, why in God's name do you not have a MR DVD player in 2011???

 

I was inching toward doing that too, so I'm very appreciate that this set will come out. I'll have to pick up Beast Machines too, since I'm assuming that'll be left out?

That would be pretty awesome.
