i kinda need help as you might be able to tell i love ironhide...well the rotf 1 at least and i cant seem to connect to any other type (g1, beast war etc.)
and being young i never saw transformers unfold...any 1 able to help? like any charecter ideas?

No one is cooler than soundwave, what else is cooler than a robot who transforms into a micro cassette player.

Or Megatron, he transformers into a gun in the G1 series.

For me I got into TFs when they lauched in '84. I like robots disguised as jets, the best. I dont think there is any kind of formula for TF collecting, beyond what looks/seems interesting to you. Like mentioned earlier, check out the resources section of this site. Its broken down by toyline and also by year. What kind of stuff are you interested in? Once you know that, I'm sure you can find some kind of match with either a line of TFs or type. ie. cars, trucks, animals, random stuff(real gear)--almost anything really.

Cybertron, you need to get some Cybertron/Galaxy Force figures. One of the best lines out there.

 

Im a newer young collector who recently restarted his collection and after this being my first month collecting again Ive started at like 6 I already had an now I have like 100+ and a few rarer ones maybe watch older mainly g1 episodes on youtube heck I grew up on beast wars lol Ive been personally going back and youtubing G1 episodes also TF wikia learn about characters from their Ive fell in love with some mainly because that site and the info they gave on them . Heck Rodimus is before my tim yet hes one of my faves (as if the screenname and avatar didn't make that obvious lol) Cybertron is a great ,I also like armada and energon and such but g1 is a lot of fun I also LOVE beast wars . so take it from someone who is speaking from current experience the 3 in your collection will likely soon turn into 100s lol and dont feel pressured to get like G1 and alternators and other popular lines only (even though I have a decent amount of both I mentioned) just get what you like good luck and welcome

 

Buff with big guns?

Animated Ultra Magnus is basically a walking armoury. His in-hand weapon is a stupidly large war hammer, and he has a whole bunch of guns built into him.

Cybertron leader Optimus Prime. In normal mode, he carries a big gun. In super mode, he's got more guns than an NRA convention.

Movie 1 leader class Brawl. He turns from a large, very heavily armed tank into a large, very heavily armed robot.

 

You just can't wrong with Ironhide. Sure he's had a bad life when it comes to the toys, but that don't stop me.
