They're not faking parts for the sake of it though as you imply. You pretty much highlight the reason they are doing it in your initial response; because the two pieces ARE completely different shape. You make out that they are doing it out of laziness or ambivalence when they're going the extra mile to make it accurate to the show in both modes. They would likely have had an easier time outright copying the transformation scheme of the original toy and got close-ish to accuracy using the same head for both, but they have done more work to give greater accuracy.

You don't have to like it nor buy it if don't want to, that's your prerogative, but I don't think it's fair to make out like it's rubbish and lazier because they are doing more to achieve accuracy.

 

I think it’s realistic to maybe borderline ambitious that this figure rounds out what Transart releases this year, probably a figure every quarter. Meaning Silverbolt, depth charge, and rampage won’t be til next year.


with the exception of TM2 dinobot they’re all relatively small. I’d prefer if the dropped blackarachnia, then Dinobot, followed by Tarantulas then Depth Charge. I can wait til 2024 for TM2 Cheetor.

 

When they make the chest itself transformable/swappable so we can have it either way, I'll call it the extra mile. As it is, a flip-out piece over the front could have accomplished the same thing. But this was "easier to do." Maybe there's more point to it than I see. But there were also better ways than just swapping it out and hiding it too. It's just how everyone else is doing it, so why try to do better?

Oh well. There's always Silverbolt I guess.

I can imagine they will announce another for Q4 2023 that gets released in Q1 2024. I'd definitely take Depth Charge sooner than later, but I imagine we will have him at least by the end of 2024.

 

Oh we will, some fans have no issues with faux parts when it comes to beast wars figures as it is sometimes a necessity and honestly welcoming if it makes the figures better.

 

I'm kinda excited for this one. Might get it depending on cost.

 

For the record, I loved Beast Wars and wouldn't be back into transformers if not for that show. We're all "true fans" regardless of how we want the figures to be done. No one is a better fan than anyone else for liking these designs one way or another.

 

I'm fine with faux parts, but let's not gatekeep. Everyone who is a fan is a true fan, and it's fine to have personal preferences.

I think I’m in for this! Picked up Megs, but wasn’t really going to go further with TM/TM2/Fuzor, but now I feel I need Depth Charge, Rampage, Silverbolt, Quickstrike, and Tigerhawk. Not as big a fan of TM Rattrap, TM2 BA, or TM/TM2 Cheetor.
