Maybe I should say that mold is not design for a G1 Doubledealer...

 

They did tease it was a possibility a bit ago, although it was before they decided to go with the different wing colour options.

 

I think G1 Doubledealer was either the last or second to last Transformer toy I got in my childhood, too. Him and Powermaster Optimus Prime. Not sure which one I got last, but I distinctly remember that one, and the nostalgia factor almost had me buying the WFC one. I eventually decided I didn't care enough, but that nostalgia compulsion was definitely there.

 

MMC talks about not wanting to take risks on characters but then drops a Doubledealer out of that mold. I sound like a broken record but that thing instead of obvious other IDW characters is a joke.

 

Definitely in team Purple Wings really, but I\'m not sold on this guy... His feet look like flat pack cardboard boxes for a start.

 

The feet are a little unsightly, maybe someone could make 3d printed shoes to go over them.

 

Would you preferred flamefeather from the Deathsaurus mold is what your saying? Because doubledealer is about as serious of a redeco you can get out of this expensive ass mold. Do you honestly think they could have turned this mold into nautical nonsense or something?

 

Nope nope and nope. I think they could have direct their resources into something better. Keep in mind,this is my opinion. You like it? Great for you! I don’t. I’ve been a long time MMC supporter and that double dealer remold doesn’t float my boat.
On topic. I enjoy the teal wings but think they could maybe send purple stickers for the underside so at least the bird looks accurate from below.

 

You can talk the talk, but you can't squalk the squalk. Might as well as well decry the Deathsaurus mold for existing in the first place if this double mold usage if you feel as if the mold is a complete waste of time to you.
on topic, someone at fanshobby should have had a promo picture with just one of the wings out to make a one winged turkey mode. Prehaps he holding his missile like a giant club but pretend that it's a sword. This mercenary will never be memory.

I ultimately cancelled my pre-order because I went way over my budget this year. I think if the bird had a better head sculpt, this would be an easy W for fanshobby between the two freelance police birds but Instead It's just kinda mid. Coming with a melee weapon would have been cool too.

 

I actually like it but the wings are different to the wings show recently by MMC. I prefers these wings.

Definitely glad they veered away from this weird hybrid and gave us a more proper IDW Deathsaurus. I don't mind the retool being more homage than accurate, that's how retools roll. Considering they brought it back, I'm actually curious how much of this lost third mode is still in D-Zef.

I'm getting more and more excited for this, and I have zero attachment to the character. It will be nice to have something to display with double evil.

Do we have a release date yet?

 

Love the sculpt, love the figures, definitely getting it, knew what to expect. Still hate that Fans Hobby always defaults to that matte finish or unpainted plastic on everything.
