Got Nemesis Prime delivered to my doorstep recently. I originally balked at the £65 RRP, but £15 off at Smyths tempted me to purchase a character I have no real attachment to. So far I'm not regretting the decision. I never owned Siege Optimus, so I was unaware just how extensively he differs from ER Optimus. It's practically a new figure and that makes the transformation that much more enjoyable. The extra accessories are fun and black repaints are default cool.  

I'm thinking about getting SS86 Grimlock at discount, but I don't know if I want to invest in more Dinobots when I already have the POTP set. Is he worth it?

100%. Very strong figure. He and Slug are a different breed to their POTP counterparts.

 

I've ordered it too, and a couple of extra Eagles for good measure. It would be nice to know if they planned to do any comparable Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet replicas in the same manner before falling too hard down that model kit hole.

I love a good build as much as the next man, but at my age it's much better to cheat and buy something predone that doesn't need as much time and work

Like, I just played with Slug 5 minutes ago and plan to just do it again after sending this message.

 

Seems Hasbro launched it today on a live stream, so they've clearly decided that spoilers aren't an issue...

 

IDT have had the decency to remove the post but it looks from the number of comments and emojis on it that a lot of ppl are annoyed

 

Was reminded of commander rodimus the other day...what did people think about it? Worth getting?

Had a toddler playing with some potp pretender-masters (did they have an actual name? Cant recall at the mo) with adult supervision. Said supervision panicked and came to tell me that "sorry, the tiny bots got lost and cant be found anywhere..."
I had a good guess that turned to be right, someone finally figured how to but the masters back in the suits  

 

I can understand them listing the newest item, but can also understand the irritation.

As it happens, I'm not interested myself, so I don't know if it's actually a spoiler or not. It's possible IDT we're in a similar position.

as you say it’s not IDT’s fault, very tactless by Hasbro given film hasn’t been out long at all.

 

Look at the state of that packaging, did someone hide a while box in their prison wallet?

 

At least the Hasbro livestream had huge *SPOILER WARNING* graphics all over the screen and before the toys were revealed so if you didn't want to see them you could leave. IDToys just... put them up with no spoiler warning whatsoever. It's really bad form.

Ah, yeah, well then you'd also expect that they'd have flagged that to retailers too... if they didn't, it's a bit rum for them to seemingly exonerate themselves and simultaneously through retailers under the bus. If they did, then 'bad form' is an understatement for IDT just posting it.

Doubt we'll ever actually get to know the answer to that though, unfortunately

 

Depends how much you pay. Smyths have him for £69 shipped, which seems like a fair deal. Anything more than that feels a bit extortionate given the end result. Rodimus Prime has a lot of heft and complexity to him, but I get the sense that Hasbro made the transformation needlessly overwrought with excessive moving parts to justify the Commander price point. I'm still of the opinion that Hasbro could have streamlined the design and sold it at as a Leader figure, but you've got to milk it for what it's worth. So like I said, anything above £70 is overpaying.

 

That was me but sadly the store was quoted the wrong price by the supplier & has had to raise the price.

HeroQuest - Alchemists Workshops

I happened to pop into that store today for some hobby supplies. The owner is a TF fan & alternates some of his own figures on display. Animated Grimlock was on show today & it reminded me how much I loved that toyline.

Yup, deal was both halves were needed to unlock Grayskull in tale and toy but anything worked with the toy lol. Origins Skeletor has the other half but in purple and the vintage head figures now come with their full swords.

And yet the release date for the Legends Hand and Skrull army builders are now 16/12, months earlier IIRC
