I mean, yeah hes only had 3 deaths but that's everytime cliff has appeared since g1 (outside cameos like animated). It's not like hes a staple that's in every incarnation of the franchise, so the fact that he dies so often in his few appearances is more noticeable

You're trying to tell me his two minutes in Prime and thirty seconds in Bumblebee weren't also cameos? Also he almost survived all of IDW1 until the end, only for Unicron to kill him along with countless others.

Cliffjumper's only real prominent role was in G1, where he was actually one of the few 84 characters to survive. He also showed up in Energon, albeit virtually unrecognizable, and lived.

Yeah, his appearance in bumblebee was definitely a cameo. I wouldn't say his role in prime was a cameo because his death was a major plot point for Arcee and his character appeared in multiple flashbacks afterwards.

In a fashion either hilarious, heroic, or hoisted by their own petard, as all three are demonstrated below.

That's a mighty sweaty reply for someone throwing around the word "cringe". If you're going to talk down to others, make sure you remember to be gentle. Especially when your brain is this strong :)

While the details would always vary, cause I feel there are many different ways you can do it, I think a character death should always be a surprise. Sure, sometimes foreshadowing someone's demise can make for interesting speculation & engagement, but I think the deaths that hit people the hardest are the ones they don't see coming.

For Blaster and Soundwave I'd make them kill each other during a battle, but unlike Headmasters, I wouldn't revive them. I'd make their sparks peacefully watch over everything together.

disagree. Someone on their death bed, who you know has only a certain amount of time to live is one of the most tragic moments. There is no saving, the focus is instead put on the last minutes this person has and how they use it.

I'd have the death be preceded by a torture scene that's at least 3 minutes long, ideally 10 minutes or longer so I can really enjoy myself and build up to a great cli– uuuuuhhhh, I mean so that it makes the audience really feel for the character and makes them hate the villain even more. Yeah, just like that.

    I don't have a torture fetish.

True, true. I guess it's just a personal thing with me. Like if I see a character who's relegated to a hospital bed i know where their path is gonna lead. And it could be an enjoyable ride. I just find myself more enthralled with the unexpected, ya know?

Ironhide died the same way, in the cartoons and in the Bayverse; I don't believe that this was a coincidence, so I guess that that speaks to the effectiveness of his style of death.

As long as it leaves mental scars for the kiddos, you know it's done right.

Still not over Prime's death in TFTM or ROTF ;)

Honestly, I don't know if it's because Prime ultimately went out as a hero saving the day in TFTM or what but while I was broken up over Prime dying, the shuttle crew's death was etched into my head worse. That close up of Prowl along with Ironhide getting point-blanked by Megatron scarred me bad. Lol.

That's the other thing when it comes to Prime's death. By that point, after the shuttle crew, Wheeljack and Windcharger, the tone that anything goes was set.

And just as an example, who didn’t know that Dinobot was going to die, when he ordered his internal computers to override stasis lock, so he could keep fighting? And that is easily the most powerful death scene in all of Transformers.
