I think I'm going crazy, I'm actually considering ordering a second one of these. The paint scratch on mine is driving me nuts, and even though ShowZ said they'll reach out for parts, I don't have a ton of faith in this company coming through on it.

I figure if I get another and it's in good shape, I can sell this one at a loss and I'll still be ok with the overall price I paid.

 

When you say "this company" are you referring to DS or ShowZ?

In the meantime while you wait though, I'm sure someone here will find out matching paint for similar issues. A touch up can be easier to do than a full mod.

 

They're now directly competing with Takara. Let's hope this ballsy move won't put BMB/DS in trouble...

 

oh yeah, logically I agree, but my stupid monkey brain sometimes obsesses over these things. It's only because it's right on his chest, and I feel like even a paint touch up would end up looking super obvious.

 

I am going to be selling my copy, if anyone is interested. I will probably be asking around $155+ shipping.

 

DS. I trust ShowZ to do everything they can to get parts, but their reply didn't inspire confidence in DS supplying the parts in teh timely manner.

 

As long as they don't affect sales, which at this point I extremely doubt.

Only thing is… why the hell do my hands feel Chalky after him? Is the paint that bad that it comes off onto your hands!?

 

I did experience many paint transfer between parts, but it happened on inside parts.

I do remember that the paint felt off when I unboxed it (but I transformed it right away). Maybe you should leave it to dry for a day or two before handling it?

For how long? Can I just take a blow dryer to it? If it takes days or weeks to cure I’d rather sell this thing off. It’s been 2 weeks since it was sent, if paint isn’t cured by then that shits probably toxic ….

My excitement for this guy went from 10 to a 4 because of this paint. I want to mess with my figures not handle them with gloves  

 

If I were you, I would not buy a second figure from a company if my first figure came flawed.

Edit: Sorry, not the best wording. I meant I would not buy the same figure again if it is known to have bad QC*.

Eh, I've seen enough reports of good copies that it's extremely unlikely I'd get another one with an issue in the same place.

Even if I have to cobble together a good copy, the price is still low enough thst I'm ok with it.

 

There are dozens of posts talking about how it needs to cure for a few weeks after opening. It should be expected at this point.

 

Few weeks? Yeeeeesh. So much for keeping this thing. That’s fucking ridiculous. Expected or not, bad paint is bad paint. Even then It wasn’t expected, All I ever heard about was how amazing this guy is. No one ever actually proposed went in about the paint.

 

The paint actually seems pretty solid on mine, unfortunately the scratch was already on it when it arrived.
