So I was fiddling around Hasbro Pulse and checking the remaining inventory on a few figures (using the "View Source" trick) and I noticed that there is literally five SG Megatrons left in stock.

If you want one, you better hop on it NOW.

 

While I have one preordered, I thank you for this since I wanted to know how the SG dudes were selling. I considered getting all 5 in the same order to save on shipping (Pulse charges me 20-30 no matter how big or small the order is), but didn't want to risk it.

Seems logical Megatron would be the first one to sell out, since people already had the SG Prime.

If I may, can you check the inventory of the other 4?

Apparently they had a lot of faith in Goldbug, but so far its the worst seller  

 

Yeah that's really odd I would think most of their confidence should be with Megatron.

Maybe people being tired of the Cliffjumper mold, or feeling (justifiably, in my opinion) that Goldbug should have been a larger, more heroically-proportioned mold to better evoke his Botcon version?

I mean, I'm still getting him, but as an SG Goldbug he's a bit disappointing.

 

Well, thanks a lot. My FOMO finally kicked in and I bought one.

Are you all happy now? I finally bought a Shattered Glass figure on purpose!

It really not so much that I'm invested in the character...I'll probably head canon him as someone else. But the color scheme just screams 80's retro, like Abega that I never got.

 

I mean, I'm the same. I have no interest in a SG collection, I just really like the colors. And yup, it really has that early 80s retro-futuristic vibe.

EDIT: I think SG Goldbug got a big inventory because deluxe class figures sell at higher numbers than other size classes. So some of these choices are data driven.

I'm actually surprised that SG Jetfire has almost as much inventory as voyager class Starscream and Megatron. You'd think the inventory would be smaller since its a larger, costlier figure and few folks would be picking him up. But that's not the case. Jetfire is seemingly selling pretty well.

 

Goldbug should have been a yellow Runamuck/Runabout with the Goldbug head.

 

That and the rest of the throttlebots.
