Might look better with the lower legs completely blue. But he definitely needs a Rebirth head. What were they thinking? Hardhead came with two face options.

 

well, I don't know unique toys version, but MFT hard head caome with 2 heads, versions with and without the faceplate.

So maybe brainstorm will have the same treatment. If not I'll be dissapointed because I want him for my lostlight display

You see that on the hardhead release, the faceplate was actually a pre-order bonus.
I don't know if pre-order bonus will exist for brain storm of if it would have already been announced if it existed.

but wait and see.

PS: in any case I will use hardhead faceplate head version on brainstorm as it is pretty similar I think

 

doesnt look too bad if you ask me. but a simple leg split for an alt is really lazy in my book.

also...i got my hardhead way after the fact like in sept or october i think. but it came with both heads so who really knows.

 

are you sure the 2nd faceplate was a pre-order bonus for VS-03? just took a look, and there's a spot for it molded into the tray so it seems like it was a standard part...

(or maybe it was the green mech or the bag of extra weapons that was the bonus? or something else altogether that i don't have? it's been awhile so i honestly don't remember...!)

I just saw that picture . And there, the faceplate is clearly mentionned to be a preorder bonus (a reservation bonus to be precise)
I can read Chinese a little since I speak japanese. My reasoning is based only on this pictures and the fact that hardhead did came with 2 heads(and that I really want the faceplate on brainstorm)

Yeah, bro. This transformation is simple, weak-sauce. But... have any Brainstorms actually had a clever transformation? My favorite Brainstorm is the Thrilling 30 and that is literally "do a split and flip the nosecone to the front".

I also got Hardhead loose from Hzj like 2 months ago and it came with two heads. I don't think it was truly a preorder bonus.

 

All Hardheads come with both heads, it didn’t end up just being a preorder bonus.

Hopefully Brainy here will get a second head as I would love something more resembling MTMTE or the G1 toy. Still getting him regardless. Looks fantastic.

Fansproject’s Brainstorm (Smart Robin) had a pretty amazing transformation and it remains one of my top three favorite transformations ever.

 

Here's hoping it comes with an alternate face like their Hardhead! Other than that, I'm excited!

 

That reminded me that as a kid I always though chromedone’s head looked more like brainstorm than his own!

I’m very happy with these colors and the correct Headmasters series head sculpt. Hoping for an update on Skullcruncher soon!

 

I thought he was more blue in headmasters and more teal/green in Rebirth. I'm getting this guy either way but I'm more familiar with a masked Brainstorm.

 

You sure you're looking at the pics correctly? One leg juts forward to be the nosecone and one folds up in rear to be the engine; much like the UT one I have. The legs never connect up at all, as I recall UT's TFing.

 

This guy looks great! Pulled my UT one out and here are some changes that aren't talked about enough:

-Back calf covers. Huge improvement. Original had open hollow calves.
-Ankle pivot at the actual ankle. UT sort of pivots more at the shin.
-Forearms no longer have landing gears hanging off in bot mode. More of a negative because it doesn't look like there are rear landing gear at all in alt mode. Maybe they flip out and just weren't pictured?
-Love the look of all the booster rockets being raised, both on his shoulders and the 4 on his collar area.
-Shoulder range of motion looks to be as bad as the original, oh well.
