I like this figure but I’m more sure now that I’ll skip the Ratchet set. Not because I hate this set but to me that square shape seems more fitting for him plus I can get a little more separation between the two.
Do we know what these square slots in the roof are for? They don't look like they're for stress relief for the pins on the back side but nothing pegs into them.
The Centurion Drone's hip section plugs into the COMBOT port on the rooftop easily enough to create two sets of silver treads for the sled. His arm makes a great front tread for just balancing the piece on display, but I can't figure out how to connect it for actual PEW PEW PEW playtime.
I assume that's just where Ratchet's lightbar connects. Those tabs will hold the Datsun shoulder cannons, though.
My Ironhide came with a bad pin in his shoulder. Can't transform and it's stressed the arm badly. Anyone looking to part with their Ironhide? I really like him and Amazon customer service is a bloody joke. Let me know.
Mine is coming in on the 11th super psyched for this one but honestly the only reason I bought it was so I didn't have buyer's remorse.
Think they'll add add-ons to this figure (like his weapons base), as well as new feet for the back of the van?
Amazon just dropped mine off. Bot mode: not as bad as I was fearing. But c’mon Hasbro- you could have done better. Van mode: not gonna mince words... it sux. Still glad I have it, but hoping that in the future Hasbro will try 1 more time for Studio Series 86. I know... probably won’t happen. You wouldn’t think pulling off an Ironhide would be so difficult. Not my ideal Ironhide but could be a LOT worse. But it does pose well.
Your image is missing. In other news, I missed the pre-order. Do I have no hope of getting Ironhide and Prowl at retail price now?
This is another one of those where I'm glad the G1 folks got this, but it's an easy pass for me. I absolutely hated the battle sleds back in G1 as a kid. It felt like a total cheat to have a large chunk of his alt mode just kinda separate off like that. And here we are again. Worse, it doesn't really fix his alt mode because of those feet. I didn't buy Siege, but if I find I want a new Ironhide, I'll go for that.
I get that people's expectations are dashed with ER Ironhide, but I look at all the previous Earth-mode offerings of this character (Universe, CW, even diaper-waste MP) and I am content. I swear some comments make this version out to be worse than all of them combined! I never got Siege Ironhide, but I did get the mold-mate Rachet. I like that mold very much, but I want an Earth mode version of both for my display. These guys will do just fine. Hopefully those unsatisfied with this will one day get their ideal version.
I hope so too. I WANT to like this one...I keep trying to WILL myself to like it...but those feet on the back of the van... Everything else I can get past, but those...holy yikes.
Maybe one of the 3rd part companies will fix the feet for both Ironhide and Ratchet? Im holding hope for PE/Nonnef/Matrixworkshops/DNA Designs. Only time will tell.
Yeah, I mean, it's not a perfect toy...but it works really well for me. The battle sled/shield is even fine, when compared to Arcee's ..."hoverboard". As for the paint apps, Ironhide is an old Autobot...he can have some mis-matched paint as replacement parts.
