This is a large scale story series I've been working on for a long time now, and I thought it a good idea to share it here. Starting out I have Bob Budiansky style profiles for two of the main characters. I also have a couple art designs for an alien race called the Vex, who play a large role in the series as a whole. To the left is what a standard Vex commoner looks like. To the right is an upper class Vex. This one in particular is named Iota. And this is the queen of the Vex, Titania. And here's a basic description of each story arc I plan to have in the series. Arc one: Rise of Maximus Maximus Primal, a young predacon joins a crew of pirates known as the Star Talons and forms close bonds with two other predacons named Torchwing and Bluntforce. In his time with the pirate crew he goes on many adventures. Such as taking a visit to ancient earth, encountering a decepticon ghost ship, and participating in a raid on a Maximal Federation outpost. In the end, Maximus must learn what it means to be part of a family, and fight to protect those he cares about. Arc two: You’re Never Alone After spending many years with the Star Talons, Maximus decides to go out on his own and explore the galaxy. He also tries to hire himself a crew to aid him in his travels. While this effort is mostly unsuccessful, he does make a special new friend in the form of a maximal engineer named Axis. Together the two take to the stars to see places new and unknown. Arc three: Of Gods and Men During a trip back to Cybertron, Maximus and Axis are approached by a mysterious and wealthy maximal. She wants to contract the explorers, asking them to track down and summon the original 13 primes of ancient cybertronian myth. At first skeptical, Maximus agrees after seeing the impressive amount this peculiar employer is willing to pay. After reuniting with his two predacon friends from the Star Talons, the four bots embark on a quest of legendary proportions. Arc four: Tournament of Terror After an attack from a mysterious enemy, Axis and Maximus awake to find themselves in cages, imprisoned on a strange world. They find countless other cybertronian prisoners. Not only maximals and predacons, but autobots and decepticons as well. Bots from all across the ages. A strange being reveals himself. Iota is his name. Axis and Maximus must organize an escape with the other prisoners and get everyone off the planet, taking down Iota in the process. Arc five: Search for Paradise In order to convince the other prisoners to work with him, Maximus promised a colony world all to their own, far from Cybertron. Now he finds himself with hundreds of bots all counting on him to fulfill that promise. Maximus and his friends travel from planet to planet in search of a new home. All the while they’re hunted down by the Maximal Federation. Arc six: Mistaken Heroes Maximus and his crew crash land on an alien planet, populated by small human sized organic creatures. They mistake the cybertronians for characters in an ancient prophecy, and plead the newcomers to save them from a mysterious “World Maxhine”. Realizing that this prophecy clearly isn’t about them, they decide to play along anyway, not expecting to find anything of a real threat. But they might just find more than they were expecting. Arc seven: Demons in Steel While exploring a section of uncharted space, Maximus and his crew discover what appears to be an abandoned Vex colony planet. When they land and decide to investigate, they awaken ancient Vex war machines, and a massive Vex general named Atlas. Everyone must find a way to shut the planet back down before Atlas and his forces leave and inflict havoc on the galaxy. Arc eight: Rebirth of the Tyrant A cult of decepticon loyalist predacons successfully manage to revive the original Megatron. Within a day Cybertron is taken over, and decepticon soldiers long in hiding flock to the planet. When news of Megatron’s revival reaches Maximus and his crew, he takes it upon himself to do what he can to defeat the tyrant and reclaim cybertron. Arc nine: War of Ages By this point the Vex have made official contact with Cybertron, and relations have been fairly positive, until the Maximal Council finds out about the ancient Vex war colony. Tensions eventually come to a head when the two empires go to war. Friends will be lost, and former enemies turn to allies. In the end no race is coming out of this unchanged. I love getting feedback on the work I do so please tell me what you think. If you have any questions about certain detail, characters, or plot points, feel free to ask.
