I didnt know FDA  had beef with Kinder eggs here in the states. Theyve been in practically every store here by the hundreds. Am sick of seeing those damn things.
I figured the toys inside sucked and nobody wants to pay 2$ for a bite of chocolate with a shitty cheap plastic roller skate inside.

 

These are pretty nice, if simple. Surprised we get G1 figures with chocolate again in 2020.

 

Then I'd wish they'd ship Takara Selects/Legends & MP's with every box of Leonidas, Godiva and Neuhaus.

They did one back when Prime was airing.  

 

The FDA had beef with the original kinder eggs, the ones with the toy inside the chocolate. It was because some dumb kids took a big bite of chocolate and also got a big bite of plastic roller skate.

Meanwhile, the newer ones are split in half, with one compartment for the sweets and the other for the toy. There's also a completely different sweet, don't remember what it was exactly.

 

UPC won’t help much unless you work in retail store upc be useless go on line type it in, call store walk around store is your better chance retail workers use company price gun unless you have one for that company IOC code will be useless, I never cared to look but different stores may have Different UPC codes with same price of item

this is a kinder surprise egg:

the toy is in a capsule entirely inside the chocolate egg.


this is a kinder joy egg:

2 plastic halves, with 2 cookie balls in a bed of chocolate spread on 1 side, and a toy in the other(with a plastic film covering both sides, which is already removed in the photo)

some other companies tried to get around the law using a slightly different capsule design:

the capsule has a lip going all around it which protrudes from the chocolate.
such eggs however aren't made by kinder.

 

There was a Kinder Surprise smuggling ring busted a few years back that had a tunnel from Washington state to British Columbia. IIRC three people were facing multi year federal prison sentences after the sting caught them. Yes, real Kinder Surprise Eggs do get found in some stores in the US but they are illegal sales. Usually the stores are ignored unless they start to distribute or do large amounts. The federal agencies mostly target the smuggling side of it.

The FDA's problem comes from putting uneatable things inside food. Toy's in cereal boxes were fine because cereal is a bunch of small eatable pieces, just like this Hershey's thing.

 

It's not even a Kinder thing, back in the 90's Hershey had there own thing called Wonderball or Magic Ball depending on the year. It was just a hollow tennis ball sized chocolate ball that had a Disney figure inside. Problem is there were too many idiot kids who couldn't grasp the concept that toy inside chocolate no eat and ended up almost choking. Of course parents of said kids complained even though it's their fault for not telling their kids to be careful since the toy was inside, or just supervising the kid in the first place.

So not a FDA vendetta against Kinder, just stupid kids nearly choking on a Hershey freebie toy.

Love me a good Hershey Kiss and love me my Transformers, so quite estatic for this. Do seriously wish we'd get a different group of characters though. I mean can we get a Jazz or an Ironhide, maybe a Shockwave or Soundwave.

I checked my Walmart today for these.

Looked near the registers, the candy aisle, and the Halloween candy area...no luck.

My American missus used to send Hershey's Kisses to me here in Blighty. It's the most horrible chocolate I've ever tasted. It tastes like stomach acid vomit. I used to give them to people as a joke and watch as they scoffed the choc and their faces went from happy to confused to disgusted and upset.
