It's messy? The writing on it wasn't needed, the paint is lifting and chipping,I can see the pen lines, they're thin.
Ehh, I think it is better with the writing, the paint could be better adhered but none of us are perfect
The chipping was before I added the gloss varnish. Also the reason there's writing was because I wanted him to have sorta a racecar mode.
I think you should use a stencil the next time you try to write on figures,I'm not insulting your handwriting,I'm just saying it's hard to write on figures without one. The gold paint is all over the place, too.
Ok so yes the gold paint is all over the place but in retrospect it's a racecar so if you think about it, the colors would be distributed in vast amounts on certain parts.
The gold paint is bloched in spots it shouldn't be,the vents, the green parts,in some places it even mixed with the green paint, plus, there isn't any difference between the gold for the glass or front.
I’ll have to agree with the majority on this one. This... really isn’t good. The paint work’s all over the place, with little splotches of paint on areas they shouldn’t be (like the vents on the front of the car.) Also, no windshield? Weird. Lastly, the face is just a big piece with a couple of paint apps for the eyes, which makes it look creepy. For tips for next time... I’d recommend using spray paint and tape. Never customized before, but this is an easy and clean way to paint the bulk of the car. No need for layering on meticulously, and with tape, you can get much sharper details. Also, might help if you do a digibash beforehand, to at least have an outline on how you want your final figure to look like. Finally, like what Racknruin86 said, stencils are going to help you if you want to put words on your figure. It’s like the tape method, but a bit easier, as it’s for precise details like letters. It may not be the best custom, but don’t worry! If anything, this’ll teach you how to do things for next time.
Hey, no one starts off customizing knowing what to do right out of the gate. We all start somewhere, so even though this may not be for everyone, taking these first steps is a great place to start. The tips @ApocalypseThruster mentioned are solid, plus there are a lot more here: Tutorials and How Tos
For an early custom its not too shabby, certainly better than my first one (was a Tracks made from Armada Blurr way back when) thinner coats of paint and you’ll do well, I also recommend using masking tape For ultra straight lines, especially when going between different colours it helps it look really tidy. I like how the Decepticon emblem on his chest is at an angle and scraped, makes him look like he’s having a hard life. The more you do and the more patient you are with him the better you’ll do.
Here is a bio for our insect friend. Once a trainee of the autobot academy, wasp was wrongly accused of being a deception spy. After being kicked out of the academy he became a drifter and a thief. He soon met a bot named shockwave who promised him new powers in return for his loyalties to shockwave. Wasp accepted but the experiment was a failure and it turned wasp into a insane out of control bot. But within the tiny sliver of sanity that remained in him one thought remained:"this is all bumblebees fault, he turned me into this!"so he went to the academy to get revenge on the one who ruined his life.
