A few things to the detractors.

“Why does it have saw blades on the mouth!?”

Because it’s a TERRORCON! He’s gonna slice you and grind you up as he eats you. It does more damage.

“Why does he have clear yellow claw parts?”

Because they look awesome and are likely made of energy. Also they look awesome.

“Why does he have horns on his crotch?”

Because he’s a terrorcon! Think horror! What were you expecting? Rainbows?

Good point is just that I've always considered him as a smasher brute by strenght and claws, also for G1 toy with face that had no teeth visible so he could have only big fangs, but in this version appears as strong as others and probably I never considered him with dangerous teeth as these ones, because he was the stinky, miserable one of the team.

Probably not. Some folk just need to be ignored.

Maybe but no. All those things look like bad choices. It's a lot like making something "x-treme" when it was fine to begin with. Too much Michael Bay.

We'll have to agree to disagree then on those points. It's aesthetics, some some people will like. Others, some won't. Hey, we still have other Abominii that will probably come out, and I hope one of them fits what you like. :)

That's the unfortunate part. So far two-thirds of this team look fine. The guy designing this Blot just flubbed it miserably.

And there is really only one other Abominus. Anything from Hasbro is too small.

I like the way he looks. I like my MPs to look G1 but I don't mind my chugs or chug+ to take liberties on the look of characters. I'm getting the set and I bought their Poseidon the other day so I would like to see both combiners next to each other.

Now I know what the beast mode looks like. It's like they took something out of doom, but told an edgy 12 year old to draw up what he thought it would look like.

The thing about Blot, is that he is not the terrifying horror-doom monster that his team-mates are. He's the gross, messy, screw-up of the team. He's more a smelly goblin/troll, than a "death-creature from hell". TFC seems to have missed that memo.

Chug+ means to me that its bigger than your standard chug but smaller than MPs.

See, I don't see these figures as being small for Masterpiece. They are carbot height as individuals and not every combiner needs to be Devastator tall.

Also, look how much prettier @Cheebs made this with one pass.

And he's still even got that horn.

    Much appreciated, Cheebs.

Looks better! By the way, I would have liked them to be at least seeker size. Monsters should be big!

Well, I didn't ask Cheebs for miracles. Man's got more important things to do than fix TFC's sins.

That'd be fine too but I takes whats I gets.

I do think Rippersnapper would be better suited for a saw gimmick. But something more like four chain saws or grating drums down the length of the mouth not circular blades in his nose. They could be like how real sharks constantly grow new teeth.

Perhaps the designer felt sorry for poor Blot, thought he needed a makeover to help with his self-esteem?

I'm in the camp with those that think this version of Blot is overkill.

My best friend and I both grew up in the 80's and we disagree a lot on Transformers. He likes his toys to look like they walked out of the cartoon and into his hands. He's basically married to the 80's. (As much as I talk about TFW2005 website and the community, I can't get him onboard to this place.) I don't care for the limited look and style of the 80's. I love the concepts of the 80's. Some were developed so good that they can pretty much stay the same. Most were limited by the times and the adaptations they have received since have been great. Character matters over everything else. I don't care for a toy/idea that is stuck in the 80's. I want that 80's concept to evolve.

When TFC announced the seacons, I compared every single character to the original toy to make sure the concept of the character was still present. I love what TFC did with the characters and went all in on Piranacon. I remember some people didn't like Seawing being legless, but I actually prefer that and would've liked to have seen that on Overbite and Skalor. But I can understand that it's not be very feasible. Besides, I also think the legs serve Overbite more, and Skalor to a certain extent.

As for TFC's take on the terrorcons. Love Sinnertwin and Rippersnapper. But Blot, on the other hand, just not crazy for. He looks too busy, so much stuff going on. As someone else mentioned, they just added a lot of stuff and forgot when to stop, or didn't realize that they should've stopped. Somewhere in between the 80's version and this, in my opinion, would do the character service. But oh well, I guess. Some of the combiners I went with have a member that I think misses the point - Vortex for WB's Bruticus, Bonecrusher for GT's Devastator, can't remember others right now.

Can't wait to see Cutthroat and Hun-Grrr!
