yep, I've done that on a few Gundam kits but it wont really work on Starscream. the clear part is too long and there really isn't anything to put the foil on.

This turning out to be quite the informative thread, I have tons of Gundam kits that I have yet to build. No I haven't started any yet, I have more furniture to buy and placement of said furniture before I can start building. I'm also lazy and procrastinate alot too.

I was hoping that my knowledge of building model kits would come in handy for some of you and I guess I was right.
I love the Molotow liquid chrome paint markers. if you need to paint something chrome or if you need some chrome behind a clear part they're great. but generally for the eyes on Gundam model kits I like to cut off a piece of the foil sticker sheet and place that on the grey inner frame part behind the clear eye part. here's an example of that.....

like I said before I don't think this technique would work on Flame Toys model kit since the clear eye part is too long and there isn't enough area behind it to place a sticker. if anybody wants to try this out I'd love to see the results.

Though not sure how it will be on eyes since they are very small . I just paint the eyes over on my end 4029B44B-7290-4073-A19F-82A9BAA15C98.jpeg

yeah I saw that in a review of that kit recently. do the instructions actually say to attach the stickers to the back of the clear parts? generally when this is used you put the sticker on the part behind the clear part. here's an example from the HG Leo. the left is a foil sticker, the middle is white paper, the right is nothing. oh! well now that's interesting. I didn't expect that. like I said when Bandai does this they usually just include silver foil stickers. I'm definitely gonna have to get that Drift now. I want to compare it with my Generations Blurr.

usually when I build a model kit I'll paint everything that needs to be painted, I don't like color correcting stickers. I recently got purple paint and I'm about to paint the decepticon logos on my Flame Toys Starscream.

Do you panel line with a gundam marker or just a regular sharpie and pencil?

I prefer panel line accents , gundam markers except for the pour type just don’t look as natural*?when it comes to the edges .

I use the pour type gundam markers for panel lining. those are GM-301, 302, and 303.the capillary action makes panel lining so much easier.

I'm pretty sure that FlameToys US twitter is run by somebody at Bluefin rather than one of the people that actually work at Flame Toys. other than that I'm sure it'll post pretty much the same stuff as Flame Toys Japanese twitter account. also it looks like Flame Toys US twitter is holding a contest and the winner gets the Drift model kit.

Weird. The Japanese one already writes in English. Seems bizarrely pointless.
