What was the credits scene for the Last Knight? That whole crap film experience is a blur that I don't even recall whether or not I made it to the credits

 

Quintessa walking through the desert, looking human, telling the scientist not to wake him but that she could show him how to destroy him.

 

I honestly think that the visuals was amazing. Like, holy frick, you got a movie based on plastic toys coming to real life. I'd like another one realizing that the plot will suck. The art is so cool and imaginative. I thoroughly enjoyed the Cybertronian look more, which gave the characters a sense of origin before earth, but I can't really say the same to the advertising and the immature teenage boy jokes they scattered throughout the series. The plot should have followed a Hero's Journey more closely, but it was so scattered and had it's legs cut off every time a writer got a hold of the script. It needed a few ounces of drama and not just action. It was non-stop scene cut after scene cut with out of frame characters and explosions. It slowed down when it wasn't really necessary, but sped up when it needed to explore a little more on important emotional issues. Guess which movie delivered things well? Bumblebee.

You have some sort of weird issue on Cybertron which links to Earth and now the US Military. Some how, Sam is called into adventure. But, throughout this, what does he learn and how does he mature? Well, he doesn't learn anything and doesn't mature at all. We don't care that he has a job and aren't given reasons to do so. Sam has a well-off family and girlfriend; why does he even have to work a meaningless and tactical job? He could spend his time chasing after dreams and things that he is passionate about - which we don't even know. How does this little nerdy kid with a penchant to auction off his family's stuff to buy a car possess the skills to "save the world"? All we know is that Sam is a middle-class American who dives into trouble without realizing how bad things are... and he is still this dude at the end. He doesn't earn anything, despite trying and failing to, and he's just given and granted all of these lucky passes. There's nothing special about Sam other than being born into it and being at the right-place/right-time.

Since all of this backdrop is there with the Transformers, Military, and so on, we now have Cade who is like Wayne Szalinski. Kind of an absent minded scientist. Poorer guy who is barely keeping it together. His greatest invention is... finding OP? No, it seems that it's "shrinking" the importance of his daughter's life, so much so that she barely appears in his life but behind audio communication. Cade then starts protecting her as a fatherly figure and helps out the new kiddo in TLK.

The reason why Bumblebee fared better is that Charlie had an issue, they developed it, Charlie actually pushed through a personal issue through the ocean dive scene/teenage peer pressure scene, and dramatically summons up courage to take a swan dive to do something greater and larger than herself. We understand that this was an issue in the beginning, middle, and end.

But if Optimus OR Megatron were supposed to be heroes in their own story, how does this work out? We see time after time, Optimus seems to wipe out all Decepticons regardless of whoever is attacking him. 1v100, OP is going to save the day. If he's supposed to be the good guy hero, how does his journey end? What does OP even learn from all of this earth smashing and shooting? Not to trust old friends? Trust old friends? The last Bayformers movie should wrap up with what's going to happen with OP or Megs. Do they just keep fighting? Do they figure out something about each other? Does one die?

 

I think TF2007 was the only one with a coherent plot. We have three story threads - Sam, Mikalea and Bumblebee, later joined by Prime and the other Autobots, Lennox and his unit in Qatar and Glen, Maggie and Keller in the Pentagon, all underpinned by the Autobot/Decepticon war.

Each character's connection to the overarching plot is made clear - Archibald Witwicky's glasses, currently in Sam's possession, have the path to the AllSpark encoded on them, Lennox and co. have survived the attack on the base and witnessed the Decepticons (as well as gotten a hint of their weaknesses), whilst Glen, Maggie and Keller are trying to stop the communications blackout caused by Frenzy's hack of Air Force One. These plot threads all come together in the final act.

That's what they forgot in the sequels - every sequel has three different plots going on at once without any overarching story to underpin them.

 

The first one is good because Steven Spielberg was more involved in it than the others

I dont know,I wish travis knight would come back if they dont get these ones right thats the end for live action tf films,tomorrow we will learn everything at toyfair and I hope wfc netflix show is good and successful then people would want tf movies again

 

Why? I mean the 4th and 5th Films are the Worst and we don't need Michael Bay anymore so there's no point of Making a 6th Film i mean we've got Bumblebee that's a Good Start to Travis Knight's Transformers Movies.

Agreed! Thinking back on the movies, it seems that Bumblebee is the true main character (lol). It's really more about him than anyone else. I might give it another watch seeing how the story unfolds from Bee's perspective - and that might make things more cohesive and would explain why the wheels fell off the latter movies. What if Bee was suffering from concussions?!

Because he's involvement with TF1 was a sucessful and maybe we could have a better result this time.

 

The only reason I would want a TF 6 is because I hate to see unfinished stories. But I would definitely would want it handled differently IF it was to come back. I could live with Bay being back one more time, but I was more upset with the writers and the story. It was getting to the point where the stories in this movie series were getting more and more convoluted and had way too much going on. I would want a more streamlined story to properly tie up this series.

But at the same time, I very much enjoyed Bumblebee. The writing was exactly the opposite of everything I hated about the Bay-Verse stories. The writing was streamlined and they didn't try to over do things much and extend the movie longer than what it needed to be with overdoing the explosions. While I would still like to see the Bay-Verse get a proper ending, I think the bigger part of me would rather see the Bee movie-verse continue on instead of trying to go back and fix all the issues with the Bay-Verse just for a single closing movie.

 

The only reason I'd want there to be a Transformers 6 is to have Unicron again. He's too big of a character to not include on the big screen.

 

My apologies to the Bay-verse fans, but the first 10 minutes of the Bumblebee movie was everything I expected from the Bay films and never received as a fan of the original cartoon. I want more!

To me, it's like the difference between the He-Man cartoon and the lousy MotU movie starting Dolf Lundgren. You can be fans of both. But we all know how disapointing Masters of the Universe was.

I own a few of the Bay movies, but I also have the 25th anniversary issue of Transformers the Movie. I enjoy both for what they are.

 

Now wait just a minute! The MOTU movie is FANTASTIC ...when compared to Bayverse. And it's still a gem in the "it's so bad it's good" category.
