Because I am goofy, I made the analogy that to the Lost Light crew Rung is just as important as Alfred is to the Batfamily. I was trying to elevate Alfred because I love Rung and thought he serves many of the same functions as Alfred. It lead into a giant debate on all sides. What do you think?

It's kind of a difficult comparison because to start off with, the Autobots are an army/political faction. The Batfamily are... well, a family.
I'd say he's less important purely because nobody remembers him. Alfred is functionally Bruce Wayne's father.

You mean Alfred isn't an amnesiac machine god that dies of voluntary incontinence while pooping out cosmic macguffins?

    Mind blown.

Rung isn't remotely is important as Alfred if you are looking at historical legacy. Alfred is Batman's confidant, foil, partner (!) and, depending on the canon you prefer, his surrogate father. He's been featured in countless media adaptations and versions.

Rung is mostly a background character and a macguffin / punchline. Oops, that unimportant guy over there? He happens to be GOD.

Last I checked Alfred wasn't actually literal god in 'mortal' form, so I think the answer is pretty obvious.

    The fuck is a Chad?

To answer op Nah, Alfred is necessary to every iteration of Batman, Rung isn't.

As far as I understand it, a "Chad" is some kind of sterotypical hyper-alpha douchebag type dude - basically the bad guy in every teen movie from the 80's and 90's.

I did some reading on it because I was honestly curious about the term and apparently the term has roots in that crazy incel culture stuff.

Whether Rung is integral to the LL?

Hard to tell, honestly. It's an apples and oranges comparison to me, given just how integral Alfred is to the Batman mythos and just how old it is. If Rung had 75 years of influencing a franchise, then maybe? It's a little like comparing a classic rod to a rice burner. One of them has oodles of history and craftsmanship and the other was put together two weeks ago, goes fast and is more or less slammed together with performance and tuner parts. One of them is a classic work of art, and the other... is a slammed together pile of performance and tuner parts someone put together 2 weeks ago.

Haha. Nope. I wish. Then I'd have a hobby I could show off that doesn't make me look like a 13 year old manchild. (Just a 26 year old one.)

Remember back in high school how there was that one kid that was always just kind of around? Not participating, just hanging out and asking a ton of questions? That was me. So I've had friends that were car freaks, but I've never been one myself.
