Optimus Primal

 

Thanks! I like it alot... got the general idea from these boards, and there is no mod'ing skill required (as I have none  ). Just need a GDO Springer and an original BM Obsidian... neither of which were too expensive.
I actually have 3 of that mold: Tomahawk as packaged except the feet, and 2 GDO Springers turned into BM Obsidian and what serves as my CHUG Whirl (upg kit and paint).

Tack on: I've considered getting yet another GDO Springer and making an IDW Swift... but feel like that would require some level of mod skills... which again, I don't really have.

 

The place we were renting got sold so we had to move. I think I know what caught the buyer's eye:

 

My own theory is Primal/Optimal became weaker because his new body requires Prime's spark to be at full strength.

 

optimal megatron from bm kind of contradicts that though, he pretty specifically states the only alteration he made was no beast mode

 

Gotta admit, made me look twice.  

While in-universe, Tigatron is correct, my head canon has had a variant of this also.

I see the character as kind of a reverse thing of R1D's car bros's "super modes" combined with DBZ's Gogeta. Tigerhawk and Windrazor had fused sparks, but OPOP couldn't fully fuse b/c that would destroy his own timeline.
Primal Prime = both, a mix of both bodies and names.
Optimal Optimus = once G1OP put back, body alters again from powering down... causing loss of mouthplate (OPOP never showed one mind you), change of colors (a la R1D), and maybe decrease robot mode size a little.

On the color... eh, Im not a fan of TransBanana Primal... loved the original toy, but don't like all the yellow. I got PE's Dark Gorira and I LOVE it! Wish I would have gotten Gorira Prime... would straight up trade for the Beast Gorira I have... but season 1 colors and battle mask on DG shoe him in to my concept... and the Gorira jr. Blue swords just add to him going more season 1 after restoring G1OP.

The control suit origin to Primal Prime (to me) HAS to include Apelinq specifically... at least as the means if not becoming him directly, using the suit as more of a template. Kind of like how drone Megs went off a template to become Optimal Megatron.

 

I believe Megatron still "built" that body though. It wasn't really lying around damaged or anything. He just took the template and made some super body thing lol

I like the theory of OpOp being "depowered" after placing Prime's spark back in his body.
And the reason why Megatron gave them so much trouble being that he was pepped up on G1 Megatron's spark. That's a damn good theory.

So. Forgive me for jumping in the middle of the conversation all willy-nilly like this. But why would Primal Prime's creation via the control suit origin make Apelinq a necessary inclusion? The two of them never met until Primal Prime's bunch made it back to Cybertron of the "future"/present.
Apelinq never really interacted with any one while he was in the past with the exception of his involvement in Terminus, in which everyone forgot he (and Windrazor) were ever there, due to that timeline being rewritten after destroying the dark essence.
Damn Furman and his love of telling a time traveling story, am I right?! Hahahaha

 

apelinq and primal prime are two seperate characters until they fuse into sentinel maximus

 

That said, by that point Megatron had absorbed a few sparks before he even needed a new body at all, so his spark was certainly beyond the norm.
